Out for a wander in the Deer Park Woods, the children wanted to take a little off path to climb trees and play down at the lake edge. We came across this area just along from the popular stop and view boat house spot. A disguarded camp, rubbish left scattered about and worst of all human faeces... how my daughter didn't run straight into it is a miracle...

Friday afternoon this beautiful spot was virtually litter free... Sunday morning... a totally different story!
1 full bag of rubbish collected by these little people. Sadly lots of smashed glass which is unsafe for swimmers, fishermen or dog walkers and their dogs.

I suppose you could give them some credit for attempting to bag up some of their rubbish... 🙄🙄

1 bag of rubbish was collected on Friday evening around the swimming/fishing area of Corronagh Forgest which is a huge improvement to the multiple bags collected previously, and it looks lovely!
Thanks so much to all those that have helped and are helping in the effort to clean up after visitors, fisherfolk and campers to the area. We are aware that it has been a huge problem for years and the effort that has been put in.
If restrictions allow we hope to encourage a clean up in this area of forest/lake in a few weeks. Details will be posted.

Evidence of lots of camps that have been set up and just left... very sad to see the way some think it's acceptable to leave such a beautiful spot in such a mess...
The mind boggles at the extent of what they leave behind... including underwear?!
We may organise a clean up in a few weeks if restrictions allow. If anyone would like to join in the effort I will post details nearer the time.

A few new stones have been started...Any thoughts for what we can put on them/write on them? Why not encourage your litt...

Any thoughts for what we can put on them/write on them?

Why not encourage your little people to decorate a stone or two to help decorate the the lake side and encourage those that visit to keep lough Ramor little free.
