I switched to cloth diapers because I wanted to reduce plastic waste.

Then I discovered something that completely changed the way I looked at modern cloth diapers.

Like many parents, I assumed "cloth" meant natural. But while trying to solve a persistent stink problem, I learnt that the stay-dry layer used in most modern cloth diapers is made from synthetic, petroleum-derived fabrics like microfleece, suedecloth and AWJ.

That raised questions I had never considered.

👉 If disposable diapers contain plastic...
👉 and modern cloth diapers still place synthetic fabrics against a baby's skin...

Is there another way?

That question led me to discover natural-fibre diapering—using cotton, muslin and other plant-based fabrics without synthetic stay-dry layers.

That one discovery completely changed how I looked at cloth diapering—and eventually led to the creation of EcoSnug.
