"Estyl Celebrity Hits n Misses" - We've got a hit and a miss today!
Our Hit being Mamta Mohandas (left) looking elegant and refined in her silver/grey top which complements her new cropped hairstyle after her fight with Cancer! We like how she has kept the jewelery to a minimum with small studs and a large statement bangle. The only that could have been changed is her handbag: a fun yellow clutch or handbag given her look just a bit more oomf!!

Namitha (right), on the other hand, was a miss for us! We dislike the patterned tights however she could have made them work with and the loose fitted top! We would love to see Namitha in some parallel high waisted pants with a clean white shirt and that fun purple "Louis Vuitton Monogrammed Vernis Alma" bag she's carrying!

TIP: Keep it simple and don't overmatch and you can make even the drab colour grey work for you!

"Estyl Celebrity Hits n Misses" - Sonam Kapoor @ Masaba Gupta's Store Inaugurationon 21/11/2010 wearing a Masaba Gupta Saree

We here at Estyl would like to start of as saying a Saree is one of the most elegant garments that can be worn! But in this case it can also be worn so wrongly!! The way it has been tied is quite demeaning to the beauty of tying a saree with too much of her midriff showing. A saree was created to cover a woman appropriately while still making her look sophisticated, but a lot of Bollywood starlets have ignored that fact, with Sari's barely covering anything these days! Sonam who usually dresses quite well really disappointed us here!
The Blouse: overall style of the blouse interested us, however it doesn't match with the saree, as it is transparent a longer blouse may have salvaged this look!

We do however like the orange contrast border with the black saree (even though we dislike the hand print design) and the orange colour against her skin! And the earrings with her hair styled up look nice, but she could have gone a tad lighter on the make-up!

We usually talk about celebs who have featured down South, but this picture was brought to our attention and we felt we just had to comment!

TIP: YOU DON'T NEED TO CHANGE AROUND SAREE DRAPING TO BE "STYLISH" SOMETIMES IT'S BETTER TO STICK TO THE CLASSICS!

"Estyl Celebrity Hits n Misses" - Wedding of Director Hari's brother on 22/11/2010

We have two pictures today that we thought we would discuss in regards to what people wear to weddings! In the first picture we have Actor Vijaykumar's daughters (Preetha being director Hari's wife) and Harris Jeyaraj's wife.
We love the silk saree's they are all adorning, especially the colour of Harris Jeyaraj's wife and the clean lines of Sridevi Vijaykumar's saree.
But the main reason we wanted to analyse these pictures were in regards to how much Jewellery is it suitable to wear at a wedding if you are not the Bride?

In the second picture if we compare Preetha Hari to the Bride, we notice that she is wearing nearly as much Jewellery as the bride and here at Estyl we believe in giving the limelight to the person who it belongs to! Simple is a lot of the times the best thing to go for, LESS IS MORE! And with that we would like to Applaud Actress Sneha on her d well tied silk saree, and one necklace and simple plaited hair and she has complemented her simple necklace with bangles that are all out! which gives her an over-all sophisticated yet girl-next door look!

TIP: IF YOU ARE GOING TO WEAR LOUD PIECES OF JEWELLERY ON YOUR NECK KEEP IT MINIMAL ELSEWHERE.

We would also like to say well done to all the girls wearing Jasmine flowers in their hair as we shouldn't let some beautiful traditions fade out!

"Estyl Celebrity Hits n' Misses"

We would like to take you back just a few days ago to the Premiere Show of the Jackie Chan and Jaden Smith (son of Will Smith) movie: Karate Kid where this lovely pair were spotted! Playback singer Vijay Yesudas and wife, Darshana, stole the show for the night in their casual attire!
Darshana chose to dress up her dark denims and a simple black top with some fun and bright colours with her Multi-Strand Necklace which we deem appropriate for the movie being shown! She chose to add some designer glam to her outfit by choosing a simple Chanel flap bag with eastern European prints! All in all, we here at Estyl think she looked looked great and loved that the hair and make-up were understated and natural! We would have loved to see what shoes she chose for the outifit!

We liked that Vijay decided to have some fun and choose a Superman belt buckle for this light-hearted movie! We have to agree that for this casual event keeping it simple was the way to go!

We will be starting our "Estyl's Celebrity Hits n' Misses" feature Today! And what better way to start it off than with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Abhishek Bachchan at Mani Ratnam's Raavan London Priemiere on 16/06/2010!

Aishwarya wore a Sabyasachi Sari as Sabya is the designer for the movie Raavan and its Tamil counterpart Raavanan. Her hair and make-up is done impeccably and we love that she went with minimal jewellery of just simple earrings and a statement ring to draw most of the attention to the intricate detailing of the Sari.
As much as we love the look here at Estyl, we have got to say the sleeves of the blouse let us down. It would have been a better choice to go with a simple sleeve as the neck and sari have heavy work!
And we would like to commend Abhishek on the choice of the tailored 3-piece suit making him look quite dapper!

Look out for Raavan and Raavanan at theatres soon!
