Current situation: Patchwork blouses are living in our heads. Haha. Not sure if we chose it, or it chose us! Anyways, this saree was perfect for it.

The milestone of creating the 100th readymade blouse design feels extra special, since many of our designs are completely sold out and not available for purchase anymore.

I just looked back at all the photos, and definitely a few designs are coming back, maybe with a little twist.

The twin-headed eagle, famously called the Gandaberunda has become a commonly used motif for embroidery. It lends the blouse a rich, regal look.

Many a times, the customers want us to replicate the embroidery in the saree, on the blouse. But it doesn’t work always! Sometimes it’s best to allow the saree to take the highlight. The blouse just needs to complement the saree’s beauty.

We have used running stitch on the blouse here, instead of embroidery.

We made samples of blouses in delicate silk organza fabric and they turned out too beautiful that we decided to sell them as readymade blouses.

The only hitch is that, we don’t have size options. So, each piece is just one of one in every fabric.

Silk organza has a better body and stability than the flimsy synthetic organza, and it has a gentle and soft look. So, we’ve left part of the blouse sheer, which is what elevated the design.

While designing many blouses for the same customer, we make sure to give a distinct look to each of them…. Especially, when the customer is excited about her new sarees and blouses.

Both the sarees in the video were picked up by the customer from our recent exhibition. The first one is a Mangalgiri pattu and has a contrast border, while, the second one is the famous cotton missing checks saree. The cotton saree is a pleasure to wear in summer, and can be worn even for functions if the blouse is as nice as this one :)

When the fabric comes with a border, put it to full use! The length of the top does not matter… just the fact that there is a border, gives so much scope for patterning.
