Making clothing isn't cheap, as anyone who's ever made it could tell you. Often, the price we pay for clothes are artificial. It doesn't account for the resource- and labour-intensive processes behind every garment; processes that treat workers and nature as disposable, by corporations that do not pay for the waste and pollution they create. ​​​​​​​​

This artificially low pricing convinces us that overconsumption of fashion is a cheap and rewarding experience. It prevents small, sustainable businesses from charging a fair price for their hard work by having to compete with mass production. And it provides brands with a brilliant excuse for their unethical businesses practices by claiming they are empowering people through affordability.​​​​​​​​

The numbers just don't add up 📊​​​​​​​​

We need to redistribute wealth and power in the global fashion industry. This starts with living wages for the people who make our clothes. And, in fact, a fair wage for everyone to be able to access clothing that doesn't cost the earth or compromise their values.​​​​​​​​

We're calling for an end to overproduction, exploitation and waste. We don't accept that poverty pay is stitched into the fashion supply chain. We want more, as producers, as consumers and as citicitizen.
