Mulmul and More By Priyanka Bhambry

Mulmul and More By Priyanka Bhambry Mulmulandmore has been founded by Priyanka Bhambry who is a CSM, London alumni & a Graduate from LCF She however realized her calling was deeper.

About the Designer

Priyanka is a B.com (H) graduate from Jesus and Mary College, New Delhi. After her graduation she completed her Masters in English and after a brief stint with the corporate world joined the Diplomatic missions. An ardent lover of music, literature and poetry and an artist at heart she could not keep herself at bay from the world of designing and creativity. For her art and mus

ic have depth and substance, a kind of freedom – a sort of necessity. In early 2010 She formally took to studying design, her courses began from basics i.e from cutting and tailoring where she learnt how to make patterns and stitch, she progressed to dress and textile designing and also completed a course in hand and machine embroidery. After completion of these courses in India she moved to London, United Kingdom and completed a course in Draping women’s wear from Central Saint Martins London and later Introduction to Fashion Designing From London College of Fashion. She further completed her masters in Fashion Entrepreneurship and Innovation from London College of Fashion, London, United Kingdom. Both Central Saint Martins and London College of Fashion are the topmost and best institutes in the world to study fashion. She worked for Hugo Boss in London before formally launching her own label. Designing was always innate in Priyanka, hence the creative process of translating what makes someone an individual, what moves them and touches their soul and being able to translate all that into beautiful dresses comes naturally to her. Keeping in mind the latest trends, style and class and delivering all that with a warmth is what forms the essence of her work ethics. The Studio and Collection :

Priyanka at present works from a studio in Punjabi Bagh, New Delhi where warmth and comfort is the main element, it is quite off beat from a normal shop set up. The studio has a range of ready to pick designs and specializes in Couture and Luxe Pret for both Indian Ethnic and Westerns. Each dress by Priyanka Bhambry is a piece of art : the work of many hours of thinking, conceptualizing, hand stitching etc. Artisan crafts, near extinct embroideries, rich traditional weaves from India to the finest of lace and silk are the heart and soul of her designing. The Process:

The Indian Ethnic is styled and designed in India and the western wear is completely styled and designed in London, United Kingdom keeping in mind the English and European trends. She personally visits museums and attends fashion weeks in India and United Kingdom as a part of her designing process. Even a small motif on the dress is special. Your dress goes step by step with her. The starting point might be an occasion – a grand wedding, a special party, a baby shower, office wear or getting an entire trousseau done which could include heavy dresses to light evening wear and the setting would be a prior booked private appointment at the studio. Here you can sit with Priyanka for a cup of tea or coffee in comfort and ease while she spends time learning about you, your needs, your tastes and your desires. She/Her office will follow the process of your order at each step. Further being a stylist Priyanka also offers wardrobe styling, bride to be’s essential guide for clothing, Office wear advice etc.

I at London College of Fashion had this wonderful opportunity to be under Jayne Pierson.

Jayne Pierson is a Welsh fashion designer. She launched her début collection with On|Off at London Fashion Week in September 2009. She has designed for Alexander McQueen and Vivienne Westwood. Her speciality is designing fashions for artists and actors.

What fascinated me most most about her was the fact that while telling about her studio and work place she said she cannot work when not in nature, her studio and workshop were by the sea side where one of the entire walls was made was glass and looked into the sea She said nature healed. Today while setting up my little book in the Himalayas I now know what exactly she meant.

Jayne Pierson and I at one the press days in London.
