Annahmol Annah was born in a small town in southern India into a family of textile merchants.

Annahmol is a line of handcrafted jewelry, clothing, home Decor & wellness products with stones , fabrics carefully hand-selected by designer Annah Chakola, each piece tells a unique story. The backwaters were her playground and the horizon was filled with coconut trees that went on for miles. With nothing but a dream in hand, at the age of 16, Annah set off to see the world and to pursue an educ

ation. Starting in America, she drifted from Washington, DC to Texas , traveled to Europe,the middle East and back again to India, stopping and savoring many places in between. Everywhere she lived or visited, Annah explored the fashions and techniques of the local artists and artisans she encountered. Believing herself to be both an urban Gypsy and a 21st century Bohemian as well as an artist, Annah has decided to follow her tribal passion and love of living “la vie Boheme.” In an effort to share that passion she launched “Boho Gypsy,” a remarkable line of accessories that blend cultural influences and simple styles with her own aesthetic to create jewelry and textiles that are both authentic and contemporary. The products she designs are then created by artisans in different countries who share Annah’s love of combining traditional culture with the panache of the present.

I’ve been collecting these old embroidered yokes for years, so l thought I’d start creating simple pieces around them.

Nothing complicated. Just easy clothes that feel good on different bodies and make sense in our weather.

After living away for so many years, I had to learn how to dress for the tropics again. I think that’s why I always come back to natural fabrics and clothes that don’t try too hard.

I love playing around with old textiles and seeing what they can become.

It’s like a little mystery in my creatively chaotic head that reveals itself every now and then.

That’s honestly what Kada is for me.
A place to make things I genuinely love, and I just hope there are enough people out there who love them too, so I get to keep doing it.

I’ve always been fascinated by what we choose to place value on.

People spend extraordinary amounts on a painting without thinking twice.

Yet a hand-stitched textile, carrying generations of knowledge and thousands of stitches, is often seen as just fabric.

I’ve always wondered why. Maybe, somewhere along the way, we collectively decided what art is.

These rare textiles carry stories, repairs, and years of someone’s life.

Some feel like it could easily sit in a museum.
I’d rather see them in someone’s home.

I think it’s the things with a past that give a space its soul.

There will always be textiles in our shop.
On the home stretch...

A lot of people ask me when the shop is opening.

As I’ve been working on this, I’m starting to see that it was never really about opening another store.

There is already so much noise around us. I keep talking about this in the few moments I show up here, and honestly, I’ve been struggling to show up unless it comes naturally. Even these videos begin with me wondering if I have anything to say, where it’s coming from, and then finding creative ways to express those thoughts.

So many things are competing for our attention that sometimes I wonder if we’re losing our sensitivity to what actually makes us feel.

I’m letting the space tell me what it wants to become instead of deciding too quickly what it should be.

And I genuinely trust that if I stay curious, stay honest, and do what it takes to protect my creativity, the rest will unfold as it’s meant to..

The energy in this year’s Biennale shop has been overwhelming in the most beautiful way.

We’ve met so many of you - from everywhere - and one question keeps coming up...

“When does your permanent store open?”

We’re now just four weeks away from closing this edition of the Biennale shop.
And as one chapter comes to an end, another begins.

Very soon, we’ll shift our focus to Kada Annahmol at Kashi Townhouse —
