Fashion Design Council of India’s (FDCI) six-day India Couture Week (ICW) will be held at the Taj Palace Hotel here from July 15. The event will showcase collections of designers like Rohit Bal, Manish Malhotra and Manish Arora. Praveen Goel; CEO, Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers, will launch their collection of bridal jewellery, Svara (Gold) and Sondaraya (Diamond), at the ICWeek runway on the last day of the event. The pieces will also be exhibited at the venue during the event.

Buyers from 59 countries are visiting the three-day-long 53rd India International Garment Fair, which was inaugurated by Santosh Kumar Gangwar, the Union Minister of State for Textiles, in New Delhi on Monday. Buyers from 59 countries are visiting the three-day-long 53rd India International Garment Fair, which was inaugurated by Santosh Kumar Gangwar, the Union Minister of State for Textiles, in New Delhi on Monday. Gangwar expressed his happiness over the inauguration of the biggest garment fair in South Asia. Virender Uppal, Chairman Apparel Export Promotion Council (AEPC), stated that the 53rd IIGF has attracted 416 buyers, which are divided almost 50:50 between the traditional and non- traditional market. Buyers from across the globe including Brazil, the UK, the US, Turkey, South Africa, Russia, Poland, Japan, UAE, Australia, Hong Kong, UK, Spain, Australia are visiting the fair. The big buyers includes One Jeanswear Group from USA, Grupo Hotelshops, Mexico, Alpelo Conf. E.com Ltd from Brazil, OSP Group (Red Cat) from USA, Cape Union Mart from South Africa, PJSC Melon Fashion Group from Russia, The Original Factory Shop from the UK, Cortefiel from Spain and Lulu International from UAE. 416 buyers from 59 counties have confirmed their visit to the fair, the government said.

Ahujasons, a renowned name in the shawls segment, has been awarded the ‘ Highest Export Award’ in ‘Handmade Shawls as Art ware’ category at the 19th Export Awards Presentation Function by Export Promotion Council for Handicrafts. The event was held at Le Meridian in Delhi and was presided over by Delhi CM, Sheila Diksh*t, Hon’ble Dr. Kavuru Sambasiva Rao, Minister of Textiles Industry, Panabaaka Lakshmi, Hon’ble Minister of State for Textile and Zohra Chatterji, Secretary, Ministry of Textiles.
