Who is Antaran ?

Antaran is a crafts livelihood-based initiative of Tata Trusts. The project develops entrepreneurial hubs that support seminal changes in craft development through interventions in technical, design, enterprise, and market capabilities. Antaran's goals include recognition, skills and revenue for lesser-known craft clusters in Assam, Nagaland, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

What products are exhibited at Jaipur Crafts Festival ?

An array of curated Handwoven textiles brought together by the talented artisans from six weaving clusters of India. This will be the first ever exhibit of Artisan Entrepreneurs of Antaran in Jaipur. The exhibit will showcase an exclusive curated collection of Single Weft Ikats from Maniabandha – Odisha, Fine Tussar silks from Gopalpur Odisha, Zari Jamdani technique of Venkatgiri Andhra Pradesh, Cotton, Muga Silk & Eri Silk of Kamrup & Nalbari – Assam and Loin Loom weaves of Dimapur and Phek – Nagaland.

Meet The Founders of Olkaan Nishtah

Shanane Davis & Adhiraj Singh Devra

Shanane Davis has enchanting storytelling narratives and a teaching style that brings the past into the present. Ms. Davis is Olkaan Nishtah’s cultural head who is passionalte about the revival of historic Indian arts and connoisseurship. Cherishing the tradition of material cultural education, she revived 46 sophisticated Indian art mediums over the last 14 years. She’s been dedicated in conserving and promoting some of the finest Indian decorative arts.
Her home in the cultural capital of Bikaner informs Olkaan Nishtah's Baharat salon traditions for students, scholars and art collectors interested in South Asian material culture & its intellectual thought processes.

Adhiraj Singh Devra is a professional shooter and material culture revivalist. His passion comes from a tradition of material cultural education that combines the historic know-how of Indian arts with contemporary thought processes with the goal to preserve and revive India's most incredible objects. Mr. Singh's cultural enthusiasm and expertise arise from South Asia's Shaashtra Kala spiritual discipline and an inherited role that protects 14 generations of historic art processes, conservation and family connoisseurship. His home in the cultural capital of Bikaner informs Olkaan Nishtah's Baharat and salon traditions for students, scholars and art collectors interested in South Asian material culture & its intellectual thought processes. Mr. Singh is a national medalist for shooting and has represented India in global shooting tournaments.

Scott Frankum & Nilesh Yadav

Scott Frankum founded the Jaipur Crafts Festival as a platform for the business and culture of crafts. Mr. Frankum is a technology developer, creative director, digital strategist and SEO with wanderlust and an MBA. He is a trusted advisory and technology partner to MSMEs around the world. His passion project is www.Greige.co

Nilesh is an Urban Planner who pioneered the first GIS-based knowledge base for Thengaithittu Mangroves, PondyCAN! & Government of Puducherry. He took the road less travelled as Campaign Coordinator of a cloth pad unit, Eco Femme in Auroville. Although, he’s known for crafting Local Area Plan for Ward 74, Walled City of Jaipur. Implemented 2018, Jaipur Municipal Corporation. Today, he is the ESG Manager of www.Greige.co and co-creates the company's Craft Differentiation Strategy. Nilesh cofounded the Jaipur Crafts Festival for mainstreaming heritage connections to circularity.

We are extremely excited to host our first ever crafts festival. At Jaipur Modern, we believe in celebrating the modern Indian craftsman. Recognizing the changes in society and relationships, we exist as a homage to their craft, honoring those working at the highest level of excellence by facilitating design innovation and social improvement. And through this festival, we want to serve as a platform for designers that showcase the skill of India’s artisans and put it on the global map. We are looking forward to the festival and would like to thank Tata Trusts, Greige and Olkaan Nishtah to come join hands with us for this collaboration.
