This Jamawar is a masterpiece of Kashmiri textile art.
The word _”Jamawar”_ comes from Persian _jama meaning robe, and _war_ meaning pattern.
During the 18th century, Jamawars were prized by Mughal nobility and later by European aristocracy.
They were not just garments but symbols of status, diplomacy, and artistic excellence. The softness of pashmina combined with the visual complexity of Jamawar weaving made these shawls the most coveted luxury export from Kashmir. Muneeb Dar
