Every silk saree has a story woven into it.
One important part of that story is Jacquard weaving — the traditional system that helps create beautiful motifs, borders, and pallu designs on silk sarees.
The punched cards you see in this process are like the pattern memory of the loom. Each tiny hole gives an instruction to the loom, guiding which threads should be lifted and which should remain down. Slowly, row by row, the design appears on the saree.
From a simple design idea to graph planning, from punch cards to loom movement, and finally to a beautiful woven motif — every step requires patience, precision, and craftsmanship.
At Varahi Varnam Silks, we proudly celebrate the tradition, skill, and artistry behind every saree.
