сшила детскую сумочку для всяких секретов (матрасная ткань, пленка-пузырчатка). разумеется, в виде кита. впрочем, почему детскую? взрослому тоже подойдет. особенно взрослой. подойдет всем ☺️

Happy Bird is back! this time, with a children´s handbag. despite it´s small size, the Birdie is big enough for sunglasses, keys, bank cards (joke, probably your kid doesn´t have a bank account yet), any number of stray coins, an apple, a cereal bar or even a small sandwich. In the best traditions of , it´s made of recycled materials: rough cotton mattress fabric (which hasn´t been used though, obviously) and bubble plastic wrap, which allows for the volume and water proof as well as keeps fragile objects that might be inside the bag, like your great-grandmother´s watch for instance, or your phone, from breaking.

Finished making this necklace a couple of days ago. ´Wild Doves´ are not exactly Icelandic birds, but they can be found in other places that I love dearly, for example in the Crimea, in France and in Italy. Those birds are known for producing very tender flute-like sounds and general tenderness of disposition. My great-grand mother though, the one who lived in the Crimea, made soup with them. Wood, acrylic paint, silver wire. Hand-made in Reykjavík, Iceland.

однажды один самолет полетел в Новую Зеландию. ему нужно было пересечь несколько временных зон и он попал в зону временной турбулентности: это редкое явление, когда время перескакивает то вперед, то назад. очень редкое и совершенно неизученное. в какой-то момент время перестало перескакивать, а пошло дальше, но очень медленно. хорошо, что горючего было с запасом, а шоколадок с логотипом авиакомпании почему-то взяли на борт больше на несколько коробок, чем обычно. когда самолет наконец приземлился в Новой Зеландии, оказалось, что прошло более двух недель с момента вылета. такого не случалось за всю историю авиации! за это время две канарейки, летевшие в грузовом отсеке, успели вывести птенцов, несколько одиноких пассажиров познакомились и влюбились друг в друга, семеро детей в возрасте от трех месяцев до пяти лет успели значительно подрасти, а одна девушка даже дописала наконец свою кандидатскую диссертацию.
сойдя на землю, пассажиры очень удивились, узнав, что остутствовали так долго, потому что они-то ничего не заметили: просто в какой-то момент немного трясло, потом часы как-то необычно себя вели, но в целом это был просто очень длинный приятный перелет.

Ekaterina Zlatorunskaya once bought a necklace from me, the "Love Birds", made in Iceland in early February this year. I sometimes write to people who have bought something from me -- I do it now and then in terms of "maintenance" -- to find out if everything is still OK, no parts broken, no parts lost. Happily, Ekaterina reported her Birds are ok, and she still happily wears them. Good crush test, considering that "Love Birds" is one of the most fragile items I've made so far.

made this a few days ago. a commissioned necklace for Yanika's nieces.) when i started making jewellery, i was thinking i would avoid replicas, every necklace would be a one-and-only thing. but this "Birds on Wires" theme turned out so popular, i had to reconsider "the one and only principle". and anyway, hand-made things can never be completely identical. this particular necklace was inspired by my apple orchard after a heavy thunderstorm.

after the thunderstorm last night my garden looks and feels refreshed, it's less hot than in the past couple of weeks and i finally feel i can go back to the jewellery work and create all the commissioned necklaces. for a nordic person like myself, the heat is oppressive and unproductive. really hope the cool weather will last a bit. ;) for me to do all the commissioned work at least.

отель на окраине Тулузы: вечер, иду через холл, где собрались на апперитив работники какой-то корпорации. все в костюмах и вечерних нарядах. поскольку я не в костюме и тем более не в вечернем, стараюсь быстро пройти мимо
"о, так это же аэробус!" ловлю краем уха и краем мозга понимаю, что кто-то заметил мое колье. кто это сказал? испытываю огромный выброс эндорфинов и пытаюсь понять, кто заметил мое колье, разворачиваюсь в небольшой группе людей с коктелями. "а я работаю в "Аэробусе", поэтому сразу же узнал!
