This is where it all started, this is where I crossed the highest tarred road in Europe sitting at 2 802 meters in 2008 TDF. In history only 3 riders in Tour de France has ever done this. y unscratched and still managed to finish the stage and the Tour. I was then invited to come and ride the Mountain with a Tour group (fantastic group of people) 7 years later, I was so excited to come and see it from a different aspect. I immediately fell in love with this climb, it is so green on the bottom with rivers flowing, switch backs like you’ve never seen before then slowly getting to the top it starts looking like the moon. Nothing grows on the top the air is fresh and crisp. I then remembered why I love climbing so much! That night we went to this beautiful little restaurant driving up from Jausiers going up about 10km. We had such a great time in this cozy little place, wine, specialty cooked meals and specialty digestives. It was simply great. It is my favorite Mountain. An absolute must on your bucket list! After my Hip Resurfacing in 2011 I tried to get back into the “Pro” circuit again, it went well but I have never been the same again, I started loosing the passion for cycling, I then maid a difficult decision to stop my pro career at a young age. But with great people in my life I fell in love with the sport again and with the inspiration of the Beautiful Mountain I thought of creating my own line of cycling apparel.
