A Rea Top and Tia Skirt ensemble, the mother-in-law edition 🤩 Doesn’t Nina Davies look cool? 😎👌🖤 I think so!
I made both of these with fabric from Clothkits and really love the result. The top fabric I believe is called ‘black swirl’ something and the skirt is Atelier Brunette ‘gaia deep charcoal…’ if you’re searching on their website.

New pattern release — the Hattie Bag! 👒
They say the best way to carry your hat is on your head, but what happens when the sun goes down and you're still out and about?
This pattern aims to solve exactly that problem.
The Hattie Bag is a spacious everyday tote, perfect for holidays, city breaks, and everything in between.
It's specifically designed to carry a structured sun hat (up to 42cm/16½" diameter) on a webbing harness that extends from the front handle and clips safely to a D-ring at the base.
Fully lined, with a handy internal pocket, an open top for easy packing, and beginner-friendly hardware.
Available now in both PDF and paper formats — link in bio!
Holiday note: I'll be away all of next week (testing the Hattie Bag's hat-carrying skills myself!). Paper patterns ordered between 25th July and 2nd August will ship the week of 3rd August upon my return. PDF patterns are available as usual, any time.
Happy sewing ✂️

I thought a hot summer’s afternoon like this would be a perfect time to talk about the fabrics I used for the Rea Top. This spotty one was made last summer using viscose fabric I’d bought quite a while ago (2-3 years?) from not sure where. I’ve worn this many many times and also took it with me on a trip to Japan, where it saved the day multiple times. Being a monochrome print, it pairs easily with just about anything.

This sample is quite recent and made using a viscose fabric I bought from Clothkits - I instantly loved the green on this as well as the beautiful drape. It was a no-brainer for the Rea Top. I’ve worn it lots in the last couple of weeks.

Now, this fabric from The Draper's Daughter sat on a shelf in front of my cutting table, at eye level, for over three years. Pre-washed and ready for the right pattern. It’s such a beautiful and delicate texture that it needed to be made into something minimal. It finally found the perfect fit in I did have to shorten the sleeves to fit the pattern pieces in the width of the fabric - a small price to pay as I really love the result.

This linen version got lots of attention and excellent feedback at Thread festival a couple of weeks ago. It’s a Merchant & Mills linen from The Draper's Daughter and it drapes beautifully. I loved making it just as much as wearing it - it is entirely hand stitched, french seams and all. Extremely satisfying.

Another brilliant viscose from Clothkits in a trusty stripe. It feels amazing on! I need to make a lengthened version in this fabric to use as a beach cover-up

And last, but not least, a cotton fabric I bought in Tokyo. This took the loveliest crinkled texture when I washed it. I liked it so much that I refuse to iron it. It doesn’t have much drape so it sits a little stiff on - not everyone’s cup of tea and not the kinda fabric the pattern call
