Anyone else like to be surrounded and knit in such a beautiful, colorful, creative mess as I do? We’re finally in our Summer vacation, and I just want to enjoy myself, and ourselves, the mountains, the views, the rain, the hikes, the sun, if there will be some, the food, my knitting, my creative mess. So much needed after such a hot, burning, energy draining summer.

Who’s joining the by Anna Johanna - knitting designer ?! I’m so tempted because this design seems so fun and so unique, but I’m so afraid to just be adding another unfinished project to my, a few years old, pile of never going to be finished projects 🙈 I need a little kick in my back, not only to start what might be a fun project, and something fun just for myself, but also to tuck the pile which need to be unraveled, one piece at a time.

Which color combination would you prefer?

In my conflictual relationship with socials, I decided it is time to simply start posting what I do, without too much thinking. So this afternoon, as I was in need of something to help reset my mind, I decided to label some Gradient Mini Sets that were laying around waiting for that. I can’t never resist taking a pic of the minis laying down on the table ready to be labeled, even if I probably have tens, if not hundreds, of pictures of each color. They’re just so inspiring, so today I allowed them to inspire me to show up, not because I had something special to share, only ordinary, but still the most beautiful ordinary 🤍 this is Eucalipto, one of my favorite colorway

After months of pale winter light, spring feels like permission to live in color again. 🌿
I found myself craving for colors, but the ones that don’t shout—colors that are gentle, muted, and timeless. Colors that inspire and allows to play without demanding anything.
I went back to the dye pots with this feeling in mind. This past month I’ve also spent quite some time swatching and watching how these gradients evolve while knitting and crocheting, letting hidden undertones emerge.
This process has been a reflection of my creative space right now: a mix of calculated order and free-spirited chaos. 🐌
This selection of Spring inspired Gradient colors are back in the shop.
In the coming weeks, I’ll share a deeper dive into each colorway, the swatches I did, the techniques I used, and how they can ‘speak’ to each other in your projects.
For now, they are here. 🐌
Which of these shades feels more like spring to you? 🌿

The yarn choice for the Lounge Hat ☁️✨

When I decided to knit the first Lounge Hat — my "comfort hat" for Paolo — there was only one base I could think of: Baby Alpaca + Merino DK.

I wanted something that would be a relief to wear. This yarn has a magical balance: the Merino provides elasticity and bounce, while the Baby Alpaca adds a silky hand and a gentle "halo"—a soft cloud of fiber that wraps you in warmth and comfort.

It’s an authentic yarn, dyed in a palette of muted, dusty tones, to which I’ve added a small selection of special "one-off" single skeins.

Do you ever choose a yarn starting not from the pattern, but from the feeling you want to give to the person who will wear it?

🎁 FREE PATTERN: The Lounge Hat is here! ☁️✨

To me simple doesn’t mean banal or meaningless. Even the simplest of things have a story, and this hat is about comfort, warmth, and love.

It was born to replace Paolo’s favorite "comfort hat", lost during a getaway. I decided to rework the idea: no purls, no ribbing, just stockinette stitch for maximum comfort—to knit and to wear.

For the original version, I chose my soft-as-a-cloud Baby Alpaca + Merino DK, it’s pure gentleness against the skin.
But the simplicity of the Lounge Hat makes it the perfect canvas to play with colors. I’m already working on several colorful versions, including a sock yarn one, and a guide on how to use mini-skein sets or your precious scraps! 🌈

🇮🇹 PATTERN GRATUITO: Il Lounge Hat è arrivato! ☁️✨

PS: Scorrete fino alla fine per vedere il contributo fondamentale di Torakiki... come al solito, l'aiuto più prezioso (e soffice) durante lo shooting! 🐱
