【商品解説】
ジーンズがカウンターカルチャーの象徴として若者達に浸透していった50年代。米国西部のみを販売エリアとしていたリーバイスは、東部への進出を試みます。そして1954年、ジーンズに触れた事もない東部の人々に向け、同社が世界で始めてジップフライのジーンズを開発、それがこの501ZXXです。当時店頭では、このモデルとボタンフライ501を一緒に並べ、お客さんに選ばせていました。
ジップはヴィンテージリーバイスに多く見られるタロン42。レザーツーホースパッチ(55年より紙に代わります）、片面ビッグEレッドタブ、隠しリベット、セルビッジデニムといったヴィンテージディティールも忠実に再現。シルエットは、細身のテーパードです。

In the 50s, jeans penetrated young people as a symbol of counterculture. Levis, which used to sell only the western United States, will try to expand to the east. And in 1954, for people in the east who had never come into contact with jeans, the company developed the world’s first zip-fly jeans, which is this 501ZXX. At that time, the store lined up this model and the button fly 501 together and let customers choose.
Zip is Talon 42, which is often seen in vintage Levi’s. Vintage details such as leather two-horse patches (replaced with paper from 55), single-sided big E red tabs, hidden rivets, and selvage denim are also faithfully reproduced. The silhouette is a slender tapered.
