Loofah grown in Toyama is known for its exceptionally smooth, uniform texture—a quality nurtured by the region’s rich soil and pure water. Enjoy the gentle touch shaped by this land.
　
Even after drying, shaping, and becoming an object, the quiet nature of loofah is never lost—instead, it rises anew in another form. A material as natural and comforting as it is unassuming—now finding its place as an interior object, quietly accompanying everyday life and breathing softly within the room. This is the atmosphere we imagined.

富山で育ったヘチマは、豊かな土壌と清らかな水に恵まれ、ほかの産地と比べて特に滑らかで均質な質感が特徴です。この地が育んだ、心地よい手触りをお楽しみいただけます。
乾燥し、形を整え、オブジェへと姿を変えても、ヘチマが本来持っていた静けさは失われることなく、むしろ新しい形で立ち上がっていきます。気張らない心地よさをもつヘチマという素材が、インテリアオブジェとして日々の暮らしにそっと寄り添い、空間に柔らかく息づく──そんな空気感を思い描きました。
　
本アイテムは、2025年11月〜2026年1月まで、以下の展覧会で展示されています。また、期間中、美術館内のショップでもお取り扱いいただいています。

From Farm to Home.
Loofah grown in Toyama is known for its remarkably smooth and consistent texture, shaped by the region’s fertile soil and clear water. This distinctive tactility is one of the qualities nurtured by the land itself.

At the origin of LUFU lies Toyama’s natural environment and the dedicated work of Hechima Sangyo, a farm that has cultivated loofah for over 40 years. They grow their crops without pesticides, chemical fertilizers, or herbicides — cutting grass with machinery, enriching the soil with dairy compost, and relying on meltwater from the Tateyama mountain range and the underground flow of the Sho River to naturally irrigate the fields, even in summer.
　
Born from the rhythms of this land and the hands of those who work it, LUFU carries a desire to explore new possibilities for loofah as a contemporary material.

富山で育ったヘチマは、豊かな土壌と清らかな水に恵まれ、ほかの産地と比べて特に滑らかで均質な質感が特徴です。この地が育んだ、心地よい手触りをお楽しみいただけます。

「LUFU」のものづくりの始まりには、富山の豊かな土地と、40年以上ヘチマを育て続けてきた〈へちま産業〉の確かな手仕事があります。農薬や化学肥料、除草剤を使わず、草刈機で雑草を刈り、肥料には乳牛の堆肥を使用。立山連峰の雪解け水や庄川の伏流水が畑を潤し、夏でも水やりを必要としません。
　
こうした富山の土地のリズムと、農業に携わる人々の営みから生まれた LUFU には、ヘチマの新たな可能性を切り拓いていきたいという想いが込められています。
