A wave of admiration swept recently, as Princess Aiko graced the TICAD conference adorned in a truly exquisite kimono.

This noble Kyoto Yuzen garment was, remarkably, crafted by .senshou , one of the very same dye masters behind our Kyoto Yuzen Sarees !!

The kimono perfectly complemented Princess Aiko’s gentle demeanor, embodying the timeless grace of Japanese traditional beauty.

Many of the kimonos worn by the Imperial Family for public appearances are made of Kyoto Yuzen.

Furthermore, many dye masters who create Kyoto Yuzen Sarees are precisely those entrusted with crafting these exquisite Imperial garments.

This speaks volumes about the unparalleled skill and prestige recognized in Kyoto Yuzen.

It is our profound joy to see the immeasurable beauty of kimono showcased on such an international stage.

Incidentally, the saree I wear as the official ambassador for Kyoto Yuzen Sarees is also a creation by Nishiyama Sensho.

The pattern of streaming water is an auspicious design that signifies purity, justice, eternal happiness, and infinity. ✨“KYOTO YUZEN SAREES" Design Competition✨

I am pleased to announce as the official ambassador of Kyoto Yuzen Sarees, we are holding a design competition!

◉Theme: Sensibility and culture reflected in the saree
◉Maximum of 3 entries per person(free of charge)
◉Applicants are welcome regardless of country, age, or occupation
◉The winners of the gold, silver and bronze awards were presented with a prototype sari and a certificate
◉Launch events are scheduled to be held in Delhi, India (December 2024) and Tokyo, Japan (January 2025).

Kyoto Yuzen Sarees have been featured on the official SNS of the Japanese government, the Indian Embassy in Japan, and the Japanese Embassy in India, they have become a hot topic around the world.
We look forward to receiving many entries, reflecting your sensibility and culture in your sarees!

Check out this eye-catching fashion fusion from the Kyoto Cooperative Association of Kougeisensho (Kyoto Yuzen Sarees)! Their sarees 🥻, a kind of traditional garb worn on the Indian sub-continent, are made using Kyoto’s traditional Kyoto Yuzen kimono techniques 👘. At a fashion show held jointly by the Embassy of India in Japan and Kyoto Prefecture, sarees featuring the vivid colors of Kyoto Yuzen and exquisite embroidery, including gold leaf, were unveiled to rave reviews. This encouragement has led to the opening of a new market for Kyoto Yuzen as well as resurgent interest in traditional Japanese techniques.

This saree is "Magic Cloak & Treasure Collection" made by 工芸染匠 成謙

A delicate hand painting Yuzen technique features a scattered treasure collection. The central motif is the magic cloak. Painted in gorgeous gold leaf, it is an auspicious motif that means wealth and prosperity for the family. It symbolizes the overflowing treasure that cannot be hidden even if you hide it.
