🇺🇸😳 Trump says “Islamic Republic of Japan” during a press conference… and the clip is going viral.

During a recent press conference, U.S. President Donald Trump appeared to refer to Japan as the “Islamic Republic of Japan” while speaking about international affairs.

The remark quickly spread across social media, with many viewers pointing out that Japan is a constitutional monarchy, not an Islamic republic. The phrase has since become a trending topic online, generating thousands of reactions, memes, and debates.

Some people believe it was simply a verbal slip, while others criticized the mistake because it occurred during an official press event. There was no immediate correction during the exchange.

Regardless of political views, the clip has sparked widespread discussion about how closely public officials’ words are scrutinized—especially when speaking on international issues.

What do you think?
Was it just an honest slip of the tongue, or should leaders be held to a higher standard during official press conferences?

A beautiful castle town. 🏯

I have been to many castles throughout Japan. This one is one of the most special ones because most of the castle town is still intact so you will have an authentic walk through the town before you get to the castle keep itself. It is quite a walk, but hey.. Japan is such a place where you walk, walk and walk! 😅🚶🏻‍♀️🚶🏻‍♀️

It was quiet and peaceful. Hikone Castle of Shiga doesn’t get as much tourists as Osaka Castle or Himeji castle. If you want to enjoy peace, nature and architectural marvel.. you should definitely check this! It is just about 45mins to 1 hour drive from Osaka city centre.

You can also message me for tour suggestions and tips. ❤️

Hope to see you around so please follow along because we may never meet again if you don’t. 🥰

🚨 A victim escaped with her lips sewn shut…😨

Woman arrested in Japan after shocking alleged assault.

A 49-year-old woman has been arrested in Koga City, Ibaraki Prefecture, after allegedly sewing the upper and lower lips of her 42-year-old female housemate together using a needle and thread.

According to police, the incident allegedly occurred on June 29. The following day, the victim managed to escape and ran into a nearby convenience store, where she showed employees a handwritten note that simply read:

“Help me.”

Store staff immediately contacted police.

Authorities said the victim suffered injuries to her lips but is expected to recover. She reportedly told investigators that she had been living in the suspect’s home since April 2025 and was too frightened to escape sooner.

Police are continuing to investigate the relationship between the two women, whether other people were living in the house, and the circumstances surrounding the alleged assault. The suspect’s statement has not yet been publicly disclosed.

The case has shocked many people across Japan because of its unusual and disturbing nature.

A netizen posted: “We were just driving straight… so why are we being blamed too?” 🇯🇵

A dashcam video is going viral in Japan after a driver claimed another vehicle suddenly entered the road from the right, causing a collision.

What surprised many viewers wasn’t just the crash—but the possibility that the driver who was traveling straight could also be assigned partial fault.

In Japan, traffic accidents are often assessed using a shared-fault system (過失割合). Instead of automatically blaming one driver 100%, insurance companies evaluate each driver’s actions and may divide responsibility based on road conditions, visibility, speed, right-of-way, and whether each driver could have avoided the collision.

The driver who uploaded the video wrote:

“We were just driving straight. The other car suddenly came in without stopping. Yet it looks like we may still share responsibility.”

The case has sparked heated debate online. Some believe the straight-moving driver shouldn’t receive any blame, while others point out that Japan’s insurance system sometimes assigns partial responsibility unless one party is completely free from negligence.

What do you think?

Should the driver going straight share any responsibility in this situation, or should the vehicle entering the road be 100% at fault?

Note: This video reflects the driver’s account. The official fault ratio has not been confirmed.

🇯🇵 BIG CHANGE? Japan’s government is facing backlash over a proposed change to the Imperial succession law.

Japan’s government has submitted a bill aimed at addressing the shrinking number of Imperial Family members. However, one provision has sparked strong criticism from opposition parties and renewed debate over the future of the Imperial succession system.

Under the proposal:

• Female members of the Imperial Family would be allowed to remain members even after marrying commoners.

• Male descendants from former Imperial family branches could be adopted back into the Imperial Family.

• The most controversial provision would allow the sons of those adopted descendants to become eligible to inherit the Imperial Throne in the future. Critics argue this issue was never fully discussed during earlier cross-party talks.

The proposal has led to heated debate in Japan. Supporters say it could help secure the future of the Imperial Family as the number of members continues to decline. Opponents argue that any change to the line of succession should receive much broader public and parliamentary discussion.

The bill is still going through the legislative process, so no changes have taken effect yet.
