2026 FALL / WINTER VOL. 4

A journey through Shima, once known as “Saki-gun,” tracing the town of Nakiri, spread across the hills of Daiosaki at the southern tip of the peninsula.

In the early Showa period, this landscape captivated many writers and painters, who found inspiration here for their work. The vivid colors that unfold across this small peninsula, together with its nostalgic streets and scenery, continue to draw people in today.

Photographer Olivier Kervern, who had long been influenced by and curious about this town, visited Nakiri to capture its sense of nostalgia and the quiet warmth of the place.

We hope you enjoy this slightly different expression of the 45R world, made possible through a wonderful series of encounters and connections.

Like a Favorite Vintage Find

Slowly woven on traditional power looms passed down in South India, this brushed flannel has a wonderfully rustic texture and an easy, unrefined character.

Light, soft, and gentle to wear, it has a quality that can no longer be made in the same way in Japan today—a fabric we hope to carry forward into the future.
