Maasai and Samburu beadwork get lumped together more often than not, but spend five minutes with someone from each community and the differences show up fast. The colors carry different weight. The layering follows different rules. Even the way a collar sits on the collarbone tells you something about who made it and where.

Some people wear clothes. Annette Michatha builds arguments with them.
Stylist. Designer. Founder, Nu Era Collective.

She is known for a simple rule: if a piece can't survive five wears, it doesn't survive her closet. No impulse buys, no filler, just pieces that earn their place.
That same instinct is what's made her the eye behind other people's visions for years, sets, shoots, campaigns, all sharper for her being in the room. And now, she's finally turning it toward something of her own.

Meet the fabric that refuses to choose a side. Stylist Oluwa designer says that Jaca is geometric, vintage in weight, and fully reversible printed on the outside, visible from within, wearable as a shirt, a jacket, or a sweater depending on how you carry it. It is one fabric doing the work of many, and this designer is keeping the craft alive.
