මුලින්ම මහන මැසිමක් නිපදවන ලද්දේ 1830 දීය. ඒ තිමෝනියර් නැමැති ප්‍රංශ ජාතික ඇදුම් මසන්නා විසිනී. එහි වරදක් විය, ඒ නම් නූල කැඩුන විට මැස්ම ලෙහී යාමයී. බොහෝ මුදල් වැය කර එය දියුණු කිරිමට ඔහු උත්සහ කලද එය අසාර්ථක විය. ඉන් වසර කිහිපයකට පසු වෝල්ටර් හන්ට් නැමැති ඇමෙරිකානු ජාතිකයා සාර්ථක ලෙස මහන මැසිමක් නිෂ්පාදනය කළේය.එහෙත් ඔහු එය වෙළෙදපොලට ඉදිරිපත් කලේ නැත. ඇදුම් මැසීමෙන් ජීවිකාව කරගන්නා කාන්තාවන්ට හා ටේලර්වරුන්ට රැකියාව නැතුව යනු ඇතැයි සිතූ නිසාය.
1840 දී ඇමෙරිකානු ජාතික එලියස් හෝව් විසින් මැනැවින් ක්‍රියාත්මක කළ හැකි මහන මැසිමක් නිපදවීය. අදත් මහන මැසින්වල ඇති ප්‍රදාන ලක්ෂණ දෙක ඊට ඇතුලත්ය.

❷❯යටින් නූල යොදන ෂ්ටලයක් තිබීම.

1851 දී අයිසැක් ඇම් සිංගර් විසින් නිෂ්පාදනය කරන ලද මහන මැෂිමකට පේටන්ට් බලපත්‍රය ලබාගන්නා ලදී. සිංගර් මැෂින් නිෂ්පාදනය ඇරඹුනේ එතැන් සිටය.
එහෙත් හෝව්ගේ මැෂිමටද කලින් @පේට්න්ට් බලය ලබාගෙන තිබුණෙන් ඒ සදහා හෝව්ට ගෙවීමක් කිරීමටද සිදුවිය
