How cool!

While supplies last, Jo Ann Fabrics has free kits (makes masks for 5 people). The fabric might not be the best looking, but who cares! Call your local store to check for availability. One kit per person: 1 yard of fabric, ribbon, and instructions. BTW they are only allowing 10 people in at a time.

I also tried this one. It fits close to the face (too close for me and it fogs up my glasses). I like that it doesn't have the metal for your nose which chafes.

When I was trying out other people's patterns, this is one I used to make the mask in the picture I uploaded. For several reasons, I abandoned it. Plus it uses a lot of one fabric. The ones I make now have three different fabrics that compliment each other. You could actually wear the inside out as a completely different mask, though you'd have to wash it before doing that to keep outside germs off. But if you are interested in a simple-to-make mask, here is the link! Add links to videos too.

Quick tip:
At key points in instructional videos, I will take a picture with my phone. (Usually parts where I know I would forget a step.) I can reference my photos instead of trying to find the exact video in my saved videos and then search through to find the right part. It's like taking notes with your phone without having to write them.

Here's another mask I really liked. The drawback for me was it folds inside itself after wearing. Germs on the outside would transfer to the inside once you folded it unless you washed it daily.

Here is a video a doctor made. I love her idea of making the mask adjustable. Not sure what material is still available (getting elastic is very difficult now) but I would probably make the tie out of excess fabric. Please add your own videos or suggestions on this page.

Here’s one of my first masks.
Pros: super easy to make. I left an opening between the layers at the top for the filter. These can be put together really quickly. It fits any size face. Not a lot of wasted fabric since these are basically rectangles.

Cons: This design uses a lot of fabric. It needs the metal grip for the nose and I was not happy with my options (I had to sand down the edges of the metal which was time consuming). After a while, it’s uncomfortable having the metal against the bridge of your nose. It’s hard to have the filter sit flat since it’s an accordion design. I experimented with Velcro to hold the filter inside the pocket. It kept popping out.
