Olentium Olentium, fragrance & foulards, is a luxury accessories house creating niche, limited edition perfumes and Italian silk scarves.

Our Latin name Olentium loosely means ‘of scent, odor or smell’. Olentium eaux de parfum are seductive liaison between scent and skin. Centuries ago, perfumes would have been worn not directly on the skin, but rather on fabrics like silk scarves and handkerchiefs. For 49 weeks of the year, it’s just green leaves against Maltese limestone. But for three weeks in May? It completely takes over the alleyway.

My star jasmine is in full, showstopping bloom, climbing two storeys high right outside my door. During the day it's a visual masterpiece, but at night? The scent becomes a thick, intoxicating wave that stops you right in your tracks.

Nature always reminds us that the most breathtakingly beautiful things are worth the patient wait. Perfumery isn't just what happens on the blending bench - sometimes, it completely surrounds you, naturally.

What begins as a hot, dry Saharan wind gathers moisture over the Mediterranean, arriving on our shores heavy, humid, and laden with red sand.

It turns our skies a bruised gold and our air a thick, sticky haze. If it dares to rain, we wake up to 'blood rain'. It’s a season that can leave you feeling as heavy as the atmosphere itself.

This is exactly what Boschetto was made for. 🌿

Think of it as the ultimate olfactory refresh. While the island begins to turn from spring green to summer brown, Boschetto stays vibrantly verdant. It's a jewel-green "Cologne" (in EdP strength) that cuts right through the Scirocco’s humidity and is ideal for summer where you are too.

A day when the blue feels almost infinite. Mediterranean Sea and sky merge on a spectacular spring day.

Walking through the old city and along the seafront of Birgu today, the air smells of salt, sun-warmed limestone and the fresh paint of the Dgħajsas being readied for summer. These days form the sensory library inspiring the beginning of my fragrances.

Olentium is indebted to this light and the colours (unfiltered here by the way).

Each of my perfumes is a vignette of island moments like these.

Fiorissima began its life as a private commission - a bespoke creation for a bride who wanted to capture the scents of a Mediterranean spring. She was gracious enough to let me segue Fiorissima into the permanent Olentium collection, where it has become our signature heady white floral musk.

Why is it archiving? Because I work with many high-grade, seasonal naturals, some of the very specific ingredients in the original formula are no longer available to me in the same format. I have made the decision to archive this original "vintage" formulation once the current stock is gone.

At the final count, I've just 5 bottles (50ml) of the original Fiorissima remaining.
