Will we have any rainbows this weekend? 🌈

These wall pieces were ordered by a lovely lady whose daughter really likes rainbows. She had ordered her name at Christmas in the Rosie collection and I designed and made these to add on to and compliment the Rosie collection. I do hope that little Ana will enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them for her. When working on pieces for children I get to re live my childhood again whicj is the best part of it all as it is safe to say, that so far, that was the best part of my life and for that I’m ever so grateful to my parents. 🙏🏻🤍

A lady was doing up her 10 year old daughter’s bedroom and contacted me to order some frames to hang in her new room. she originally was going to order from the Rosie collection, however we got chatting and she mentioned that the colour scheme of her room was taupe and shades of purple. I told her that if she wanted I was very happy to come up with something to suit the colour scheme of her room. This was the result 🤍

Good morning from my studio 😁

I’m currently working on some commissions and I want to share with you two which I had done over the Christmas period. Commissions are great as you get to work closely with the client and there is nothing more satisfying than pleasing a client and making them happy. However, I have to admit especially with art there is always a huge risk factor as it’s so subjective. Commissions also take you out of your comfort zone, I would never except to do anything that I can’t connect with, but I do love a challenge. These two were a big challenge to me, why? RED!!! Red is a color which is very much out of comfort zone. Don’t I like it? Yes I do, but I never naturally go to it, I’m not very comfortable with it, I tend to lean towards blues, greens, yellows, purples, but red always takes me out of my comfort zone. Nonetheless, I really enjoyed working on them and I, as well as the clients were very happy with the outcome. This is the beauty of art and commissions, because it was requested I experimented with a colour palate that I wouldn’t have naturally gone to. Thank you for entrusting me with these which gave me the opportunity to explore and experiment. As a result of this, one of my new designs is a based on red. We all need a push sometimes ❤️

I’ve been silent for a few weeks as I was enjoying time with my kids, family and friends over the Christmas period. This week we’re back to routine and although I loved the Christmas madness I’m enjoying some structure to my days. This morning I was back in my happy place-my studio-painting! I’m currently working on some commissions. Someone contacted me to create a rainbow painting for her daughters bedroom and others for some paintings on chopping boards, someone else for a dining room and someone who wants to dress up/ style her kitchen walls. I’m enjoying working on new designs as well as adding on to the existing collections and creating new ones for both kids and adults … 😁

I like to be real and say things as they are, I’ve always struggled with the superficiality of the ‘new years Eve hype’ thankfully celebrations these days have changed immensely and are surrounded by family and friends without the countdown anxiety and pressure. Yesterday a special friend and personal mentor of mine shared this beautiful piece with me and it struck me to the core because it’s not ‘ ideal’ it’s real. Here is to a blessed new year my friends, now on we go ❤️

On another note I can’t not say thank you to all of you of who have supported and encouraged me in these last couple of weeks. It was a crazy but satisfying ride which gave me energy (mental as I’m physically exhausted from all the late nights of painting) 😅😝 to do more this year. Watch this space as I have a lot up my sleeve ☺️
