I’m Glenda Hernández, I’m Mexican and the founder of Tulumibaby.

Although I’ve been with the brand for 3 years, I realized I’ve never properly introduced myself to you all. So, here it goes…

I started Tulumibaby when my son, Romeo, was just 6 months old and I wanted to give him only the best (wooden or cloth toys, handmade instruments) and to steer clear of electronic toys. I yearned for the simplicity of old times and began collaborating with artisans to bring my unique designs to life.

Even though I’m not a professional designer, I’ve always had a passion for aesthetics and a keen eye for style. This journey began with toys and instruments inspired by what I saw on social media but found difficult to source locally. Eventually, this passion evolved into creating comfortable, breathable clothing for babies and kids. Using materials like muslin, linen, and cotton, I focus on simple yet comfortable designs that allow children to move freely.

Now, at 38, I’ve found my true calling. My second child, Romeo, has been my muse, driving me to create pieces I couldn’t find anywhere near me. As a mom, I hope to inspire other moms to pursue their dreams and passions, no matter their age. If I can start a brand almost in my 40s, so can you.

Also I would like to say that Tulumibaby is made with love in small workshops between Playa del Carmen and Tulum, Mexico. We proudly employ local women and have grown to have two stores; one in Tulum and another in Puerto Aventuras. Our clothing line is also available in several hotels and concept stores across Mexico and the brand is looking to expand to more countries.

I’m excited to announce that We’re now collaborating with more artisans and brands to bring you new collections, including shoes and sandals made in Michoacán. I’m also working on an adult line for women & men, which I hope will be as beloved as Tulumibaby.
