Here’s something worth sitting with: s***m counts in Western men have dropped over 50 percent in the last 50 years. Testosterone levels are declining by roughly 1 percent per year. Male infertility now makes up nearly half of all infertility cases globally. A 2019 study in Environmental Health Perspectives found that men with higher levels of phthalate metabolites in their urine had significantly lower testosterone and altered s***m morphology. These weren’t men working in factories. They were living ordinary lives — in ordinary clothes.
Something is clearly going on. And after years in the fashion industry — plus two certifications in Ayurveda — I have a strong hunch about one overlooked piece of the puzzle: what we’re wearing. And it is one of the reasons I formulated a Detox Protocol. Let’s have a conversation.

One month back in Mexico and the summer is kicking off! Visits from friends, travels across the peninsula and to Isla Mujeres. Caring for crazy kittens (who wants one!!)! And romantic dinners with friends. Not a bad way to spend April/May

Fast fashion has engineered its entire business model around hijacking the wanting system. Infinite scroll. Flash sales. Limited-time offers. “Only 3 left in stock.” Every one of these design choices is calibrated to spike dopamine before the purchase — during the anticipation phase — when the neurological reward is at its peak.

Harvard psychologist Daniel Gilbert, in his landmark research on affective forecasting, found that humans are systematically terrible at predicting how much pleasure future purchases will bring them. We consistently overestimate the satisfaction of getting things and underestimate how quickly that satisfaction fades. His studies showed that we adapt to new possessions — a psychological process called hedonic adaptation — with startling speed. The new coat becomes invisible in your closet within weeks. The spike flattens. The wanting begins again.

When we act in accordance with our deeply held values — when we do something we believe is right, whether that means donating to a cause, choosing a more ethical option, or simply not buying something we don’t need — the brain activates what researchers call the “helper’s high.” This is a measurable neurological response involving the release of oxytocin, serotonin, and endorphins — the compounds of connection, calm, and sustained wellbeing.

In step with what I love about the dreamworld, the background of all the images in my recent collection are dreaming watery spaces with room and movement and a mind of its own. Oh! And I’m adopting out kittens, so PM me if you find this one adorable.

Bit Basel is creating a laser-engraved gold plate of my Artists for Impact Royal Robe book cover, and that plate is going inside the first part of the New Moon Station launching with the Artemis program.
On my last trip to Florida, I had the fortune of watching the last Artemis launch into the horizon. Growing up just over an hour away from The Kennedy Space Center, this felt like a true return to home, something I had the privilege to witness as a child and forge into my identify. I felt proud, and left with one clear thought: if something is going to represent me in space, it needs to represent what I actually stand for on Earth. That’s why I was chosen as an artist for this moon mission in the first place. I’ve built my life around two things:
1) My adoration of the cosmos—because to me it represents infinite mystery, and the oneness that is God.
2) Sustainable fashion—because what we wear is not separate from our health, our oceans, or our future.
This is also why I’m proud to be part of Artists for Impact, especially with their focus on caring for our oceans.

The Stories We Wear: Art, Identity, and the Subconscious
An Evening with

Join artist, storyteller, and eco-conscious fashion creator Courtney Barriger for an intimate presentation exploring the intersection of art, identity, dreams, and the subconscious mind.

Through painting, storytelling, fashion, and mythology, Courtney will share the creative philosophy behind her literary and visual worlds — including The Royal Robe, an upcoming illustrated fable and developing film project centered on the power of dreams, creation, and collective consciousness.

Known for her emotionally immersive artwork and sustainable fashion label Courtney’s work examines the hidden narratives we carry: the stories we wear, the identities we construct, and the subconscious forces that shape human experience.

The evening will feature a visual slideshow of original paintings and illustrations from her books and creative universe, alongside reflections on the subconscious as a source of storytelling and artistic vision.

I’m kicking off a monthly countdown, one limited Horizons drop with at a time. First up is the Vega String Bikini in Verde Horizons. The print is based on a watercolor idea: where ancient jungle forests meet the horizon line of the sky at dawn. Translating that into an actual wearable piece meant keeping it clean, bold, and wearable—not conceptual for the sake of being conceptual.
And yes, I’m pulling directly from what I’m living in right now: springtime in Tulum, when the greens are loud and the yellows hit harder in the sun.
A local flower that always stops me is plumeria (frangipani)—it’s simple, strong, and unmistakably tropical. That’s the energy I wanted in this colorway: alive, grounded, and bright without being noisy.

Fashion Revolution Week 2026 arrives this April with a theme that feels less like a campaign and more like a cultural inflection point: conscious fashion as a collective mission. The timing is precise. The European Union is preparing to enforce a ban on the destruction of unsold apparel. California continues to advance textile stewardship legislation that extends responsibility far beyond the point of sale. At the same time, independent watchdogs are steadily dismantling the illusion that sustainability can be achieved through surface-level material substitutions while the underlying system of overproduction remains intact.

Finally 👏 Human made and small batch will see it’s time. If predictions about ai automation in factories is true, we will be valuing what human hands shaped and formed more than ever. I picture thick textured paintings, grittier vocals, messy guitars, and slipped piano keys. Embellishments on clothes, or maybe hand painted designs. I personally can’t wait to see the pushback.
