You don’t lose respect by asking for help.
You lose growth by pretending you don’t need it.

In 2021, I asked questions.
Today, I answer some.

That’s how progress works. 🧢

Honesty is part of professionalism.

If you know you cannot crochet a particular design, say it.

Not every style is your strength. Not every pattern is your specialty. And that’s okay.

What is not okay is collecting a client’s money knowing you can’t deliver what you promised. In this social media age, one bad job can damage your crochet business faster than you built it.

You can confidently turn down a client who won’t pay your price.
Why is it so hard to turn down a job you’re not skilled enough to execute?

Some clients will leave when you’re honest.
But the right clients? They will respect you and come back.

Skill growth is important. But integrity builds longevity.

One strand crochet does NOT mean one-strand pricing.

Using a single strand of yarn might consume less material…
but it consumes MORE time, MORE precision, and MORE patience.

Time is a cost.
Skill is a cost.
Experience is a cost.

When you pay for handmade crochet wear, you’re not paying for yarn.
You’re paying for craftsmanship.

Lightweight doesn’t mean cheap.
Minimal doesn’t mean easy.

That’s why I’ll never undercharge myself just because the yarn looks β€œless.”

If you value quality, you understand this.

There was a time I would always recommend a smaller hook size for one strand crochet.

But experience has changed my perspective.

Right now, I’m working a one strand project with a 5.5mm hook and it’s turning out beautifully. Before this, I used slightly smaller hooks (not as tiny as 2.0mm or 3.0mm), and I’ve learned something important:

There is no β€œone perfect hook size” for one strand yarn.

Your hook choice should depend on:
β€’ The stitch pattern
β€’ The drape you want
β€’ The structure of the design
β€’ Your personal tension

If you’re crocheting with one strand and wondering what hook size to use, start by asking:
β€œWhat result am I trying to achieve?”

That’s the real game changer.

Save this for later if you’re experimenting with lightweight crochet projects 🧢

Crochet is more than fashion to me it’s how I stay steady

People still think crochet = heavy, hot, uncomfortable
And honestly? I used to hear that a lot.

But here’s the truth πŸ‘‡πŸ½
Crochet can be lightweight, breathable, and wearable even in Nigerian weather.

That’s why I’m obsessed with one strand crochet.
It gives:
β€’ A softer feel
β€’ Better drape
β€’ Less heat
β€’ And that clean, luxury finish everyone loves

So yes, you can now order crochet pieces without worrying about weight or discomfort.
Comfort and style can coexist I design with both in mind.

πŸ“© Orders are open
Lightweight crochet gowns, dresses & sets made to fit you, not stress you.

Save this if you’ve always loved crochet but feared the heat.

I said it in the video: I’ll keep posting till I get my spark back.

There was a time I couldn’t go a week without crochet orders.
Now things are different. The industry is louder, more crowded, and growth doesn’t look the way it used to.

And I’ve learned this the hard way
change doesn’t mean failure.
It means evolution.

So this is me choosing to stay visible.
To stay honest.
To keep creating, even when it feels quiet.

This is a raw video. No edits.
Just me, my craft, and the decision not to disappear.

If you’re building something and it feels slower than before
you’re not alone. Keep going.

I don’t even remember everything I said in this video and that’s the point.

Creating isn’t always neat.
Sometimes it’s rambling, stopping, starting again.

This kimono will pause for client work.
It will wait while I make other decisions.
And I’ll still come back to it.

Progress doesn’t always look organized.
Sometimes it looks like controlled chaos and unfinished edges.

Still valid. Still growth.

I started this kimono with a mesh treble stitch, already knowing one thing:
this project will not be a straight line.

Client orders will come.
Other ideas will distract me.
Life will life.

But I still started.

Not every project needs speed.
Some need patience, pauses, and honesty.

This kimono will be done when it’s done and that’s okay.

Sometimes consistency looks like showing up again, not finishing fast.

Creating consistently is hard when engagement is silent.
I see the DMs, and I appreciate the love but comments, reposts, and questions are what truly push creators to show up again and again.

If my content helps you, say it here.
If you enjoy it, engage.
Your interaction matters more than you think.

Let’s grow together 🀍

One thing about crocheting in Nigeria the weather is hot β˜€οΈ
And yes, some clients hesitate because they think crochet is always thick and heavy.

Here’s the truth:
Crochet can be lightweight too.

Instead of using double strands like we often do, you can opt for a single strand of lightweight yarn.
Yarns like Yeye work perfectly for breathable, comfortable pieces especially for this climate.

It’s not always about stopping crochet; sometimes it’s about adjusting technique and yarn choice.
Comfort matters just as much as style.
