It amazes me how often people judge others based on who they used to be, overlooking how much growth can happen over time.
Just because I wasn’t the sharpest student in school doesn’t mean I’m not capable of great things now.
People evolve!
One reason many don’t experience growth is the ‘familiarity mindset’ where we dismiss the expertise of those we once knew in different contexts.
You might see someone through the lens of ‘what can they really do?’ without realizing they’ve become an authority in an area where you’re struggling.
Familiarity can blind us to the value in those around us.
I make it a point not to judge anyone based on their past, but on who they are today.
If there’s someone around you with the knowledge or skills you need, don’t let pride hold you back from reaching out.
Real help begins with that simple step of asking.
