This chapter of my life is called: Invite Only!

It’s called: Prove it!

It’s called: Mutually beneficial, or immediately NO!

It’s called: I’m not letting anything slide!

It’s called: If I ever have to question which side you are on, you are not on my side!…

This is my soft girl era!

I don’t care about anything nor anyone that doesn't add to my peace, happiness or bank accounts.

08/03/2024

Dear Sisters,

As we celebrate this year’s International Women’s Day under the theme 'Invest in women: Accelerate progress”, I hope that our voices doesn’t feel like a liability in a world that mostly hears power as baritone, that we don’t cringe when we hear our recorded sound, and wonder what we could do differently.

I hope we know how to breathe deeply, of course, and access the full range of sound that’s contained within our body. I do hope however that it is not a practice we develop out of some twisted sense of shame about how our voice naturally emerges. I hope, like our male friends and families, we simply have a voice and feel free to use it out in the world, taking for granted that we will be heard as worthy.

I hope that we will labor over the usefulness and originality of our concepts, and the clarity and beauty of our language. And if whatever else we find joy in, I hope that we will have it all! This year, I hope that we delight in color, take deep pleasure in playing with our appearances, be creative, fearless and have fun. But I hope we never spend copious amounts of energy trying to protect ourselves from society’s critique, a sort of defensive maintenance that so many women of our generation and previous ones felt obligated to do.

I hope that our identity as an auntie, a mother or a grandmother will never be thought of as contradictory or competing with our capacity to lead.

I hope, most fundamentally, that power is disentangled from s*x in a way that frees us up to see our own gifts, and the gifts of other women, without the scales of s*xism that have so long obscured all of our vision.

And above all, I hope for justice, equality and equity for women, end to being violated, an end to suffering any violence. And that women will get more protection and recognition, and we stop being victims of abuse of any kind.

Happy International Women's Day to all my Sisters here.

Happy Happy International Women’s Day to all my sisters at Tech Mommas, today is dedicated to you, your courage, your tenacity, your strength and your wisdom! Honored to be investing all the time and resources to building a platform that fosters your growth and gives access to a wholesome community.

I hope you all have a grand day!

Erioluwakitan!

I hope you never lose your sense of wonder.

You get your fill to eat but always keep that hunger. May you never take one single breath for granted. Whenever one door closes I hope one more opens for you. I pray that regardless, you'll always give faith a fighting chance.

I pray you never live your life in fear of mountains present nor in the distance. I pray you never settle for the path of least resistance. I know living might mean taking chances but they're worth taking.

I pray you never let evil hearts leave you bitter. And when you come close to selling out, I hope you reconsider, and give heaven more than just a passing glance. And like you do now, even as you grow older, whenever you get the choice to sit it out or dance, I hope you dance my baby girl.

When I meditate on the word, “Guidance”, I kept seeing “dance” at the end of the word. I remembered reading that doing God’s will is a lot like dancing.

When I saw “G”, I thought of God, followed by “u” and “i”.

“God”, “u” and “i” dance.”

God, you and I dance!

As I lowered my head, I thanked God for the millionth time, for the gift of you, trusting that He will be your guidance throughout your life.

My prayer for you today and everyday is that God’s blessings and mercies be upon you always. May you abide in Him, as He abides in you. Dance together with Him, trusting Him to lead and guide you through each seasons of your life.

I hope you dance my baby girl!

You are loved always, in all ways.

And you are who your Momma says you are, the child of the King!

My graceful and perfect baby!

There are a lot of fancy things in this world, but nothing sparkles, nor bring as much joy as you do Omo mii.

I am not looking over fences trying to find a better view, my search for all that ended when I first laid eyes on you. And the grass is always greener because the sun shines when you smile. And when I'm holding you the world makes sense, on my side of the fence!

Princess Asani!

Nothing like you….

You dance even when there’s no music. You sing about everything 😄. You are so graceful, sweet, intelligent, super kind, yet assertive. My Jesus baby, you love God so much, and you adore your Momma.

You want to do dress up, wear boots, play football, build blocks and believe you can do anything really. My competitive baby 😃. You are excited about school every day, no surprise that you ace all your subjects. You just do your thing, and in a class of your own, and I absolutely adore that about you. You make being a Mum an absolute delight every waking day.

You are the child I prayed, fasted and hoped for! You are proof that God is forever mindful of me! And whether it’s the first birthday, 5th birthday or 21st birthday, you will always be my world! And I will love you forever and then a day!

You are a covenant child, so I know you will continue to be safely tucked in God’s mighty arms. No evil is allowed to come near you because God has assigned His Angels to watch over you always, in all ways. You fulfill God’s divine purpose for your life. Nothing missing, nothing broken.

Happy 5th birthday Aduragbemi!

A word to women, about over- working and over- functioning in relationships:

Waking up at 4am working for 15 hours, coming home and cooking, cleaning, doing housework and other domestic chores for another 5 hours, then sleeping only 3 or 4 hours and doing this day after day for years for the sake of a career, a family, a partner, children- whomever- isn't HEALTHY.

It isn't admirable.

It isn't aspirational.

It isn't noble.

It isn't Godly.

Even Jesus took Sundays off 😴

This pace of work and stress without respite will slowly kill you. Your body will eventually just stop functioning. Chronic illness will stop you - and you'll get the rest you need in a hospital bed.

Many women have lived this life for decades out of necessity because of the constant obsession to be found worthy by people who won’t hesitate to get with someone else a week after their death. Particularly if children are involved. They don't have a choice. They are largely the working poor or the shrinking middle class hanging on by a thread, every dime counts and unfortunately, it comes at the expense of mental and emotional well-being of women.

Everyday I see women who do this because they believe that the only way that they will be loved, appreciated, accepted, cherished and treated as valuable by the people around them is to be all things to everyone all the time. So these women use every ounce of energy they have and never rest to make sure everyone around them get what they need from them in the form of physical and emotional labor.

This is called "overfunctioning" in relationships. It's a maladaptive coping strategy that people sometimes fall into due to insecurities, co-dependency, and feelings of inadequacy. Overfunctioning is learned behavior that typically begins in childhood and has to be actively unlearned in order to be healthy as an adult.

Humans need rest. We need fun. We need time when we are doing absolutely nothing. And we need sleep.

If you're over working and over functioning- this is your call to STOP.

Take the day off. Do ABSOLUTELY NOTHING.

Rest. Relax. Chill. Pamper yourself. Engage in whatever self care recharges you.

If anyone asks you why or what happened- where were you all day? Just tell them you were with Mae. 😁😋

You deserve it. ❤️😍🤩

Eze ebube
See how far you’ve brought me
Eze ebube
I’m so glad you found me worthy
I can see
I can tell
And I know it’s your grace
All my days I will sing your praise

……
Whewww... It is finally the last day of the Year 2023. What a Year!

It’s been quite an emotional few days for me. Every little thing got me crying. Because this year was a convergence of sunshine and rain, pleasure and pain for me.

This year I almost lost my child but Mercy said No! I lost my job while stuck at the hospital caring for her. Spent literally all my savings on her health and surgery, she had a successful surgery, and then we got back home to an impending house demolition and was almost stranded. Thankful for friends and strangers that came through for us.

And then getting my dream job, business investments and going on to achieve a level of financial success I never thought I could achieve in 5 years.

Having my Mum still here which even all her doctors are not able to explain. Such a gotcha thingy 😁🙊.

We’ve experienced God’s loving kindness in unbelievable ways. It’s been a great year in spite of the highs and lows.

Today, I stand with my child, my mother and every member of my family, alive, happy, fulfilled, blessed beyond measure.

What a year! But I won't have it any other way, because this year built my stamina, tenacity and strength like never before.

So, here's to 2023, to the battles we faced, to the wars we conquered, to the storms we stood through and to the truest of family and friends.

One great lesson I'm taking into 2024 is that you can't get the rainbow, if you can't take the rain. So I choose to be grateful for the many rains that drenched me to my soul. I am super grateful for the rainbow!

So this is a big Cheers to you and I!

Let's toast that things got better this year!
Let's rejoice for God's abundant Love, Mercy and Grace!

Let's toast to dreams that were birthed, to doors that were opened and definitely for those shut at us.

Cheers to love found, and to those lost.

Cheers to new career opportunities and to finally starting that business.

Here's to the mistakes we made and the lessons we learned!

Here's to being alive!

Here's to everyone chasing their dreams, living, loving and making positive impact in their sphere of life!

Here's to those who got hurt and are striving to heal. Here's to those still striving to find their bearing in life. Here's to not remaining on the ground even when we were thrown under the rubbles.

And here's to an even greater 2024!

Here's to giving our best and not letting anything, anyone, circumstance and trial keep us down!

May 2024 be better. May we not forget the lessons we learned in 2023, and may we be, do and live better. May our lives honour God in every way.

May we learn to love ourselves a little more. May we truly stop desperately aspiring to sit at tables where we have to bring our own chairs, squeeze in between people who we have to repeatedly convince why we should and deserve to be there. In 2024, may we receive the wisdom, strength and doggedness to build our own tables!

Cheers to an amazing and rainbowful 2024!

Thank you for being a part of my online presence. Let’s do more in 2024.

Love you all bigly ☺️🤭🥰.

Your Sister,
EnnMAE
