ERROR/IMPERFECTION STAGE
Every outfit has a story behind it—a lesson learned and knowledge gained.
In this post, I'll be sharing the lessons and insights I acquired.
I made this outfit for my cousin, and yes, people stared, complimented, loved it, and even the client was thrilled. But as the fashion designer, I couldn’t help but feel that some parts of the outfit could have been better for one reason or another.
I was chasing perfection, which isn’t a bad thing. However, I forgot that perfection doesn’t come in a day, a week, a month, or even a year.
Do I believe perfection is possible? Yes, I do. But for perfection to happen, you must go through countless imperfections.
It’s through those imperfections that you identify the causes of errors and find solutions, ensuring that next time, you won’t repeat the same mistake.
For every mistake you make and learn from, I think one improve by at least 1%. The ability to recognize your mistakes and even pinpoint what went wrong is a sign of growth. It shows that progress is happening.
That’s why I call this the Error or Imperfection Stage. And to ease your worries: none of us are perfect. As humans, we are bound to make mistakes.
Don’t be too hard on yourself, but don’t go too soft either.
