If you are learning fashion designing, please don’t rush the process. 🧵❤️
Here are 5 common mistakes beginners should avoid:
1️⃣ Taking inaccurate measurements
A small mistake in measurement can affect the entire outfit. Always measure carefully and write your measurements down.
2️⃣ Cutting fabric without checking your pattern
Before you cut your expensive fabric, double-check your measurements, seam allowance and fabric direction.
3️⃣ Ignoring proper finishing
A beautiful outfit is not complete until the inside is also neat. Learn how to finish your seams properly.
4️⃣ Being afraid to practice
You will make mistakes when learning. Don't give up. Every mistake is a lesson that makes you better. 💪🏽
5️⃣ Copying without understanding
Don't just copy a design. Learn WHY the designer used that particular dart, allowance, shape or cutting method.
