A customer chatted me up from Ekiti because she needed a crepe material. I told her about the medium Korean Crepe I had available. I didn't know that she wasn't familiar with the different types of crepe.
I had previously explained in the group that Korean Crepe comes in different qualities—low, medium and high—and I had also posted the different grades I had available at the time: ₦1,400, ₦1,800 and ₦3,000.
So, when she contacted me, I simply told her about the medium Korean Crepe I had. She said she wanted cartoon colour, so I sent her pictures of the material.
She asked me to send proper/clear pictures so she could show them to her customers, which I did. After showing her customers, she told me she wanted the material and she made payment.
The particular colour she wanted wasn't available with me at the time, so I sourced it from my supplier. After I sent her the picture my supplier sent to me, she agreed to it, and I immediately made payment to secure the material.
My question now is: If she didn't know the difference between the types of crepe, shouldn't she have asked me to explain further or confirm the exact type and texture she wanted before making payment?
Because from my understanding, she saw the pictures, sent them to her customers, got their approval, and then made payment.
It was only after receiving the material that she said it was too soft and that she actually wanted a thick/hard fabric, not Korean Crepe.
Now she is asking for a refund and also wants me to pay the waybill back to Ibadan.
Please, house, I need your honest advice. 🙏
Did I handle this wrongly, or should she have confirmed the exact type and texture she wanted before making payment?
What would you do if you were in my shoes?
