OUR PATTERN DRAFTING TECHNIQUES
I’ll like to say that choosing a style wouldn’t determine the outcome of the dress but the other major factors that come to play.
The first of which is choosing the right fabric and accessories. If you get this wrong you have gotten the entire design wrong because fabric is the foundation of every project.
A well drafted pattern will come second so you don’t waste the carefully selected fabric.
The last, which is mostly overlooked is your choice of interfacing. You need to know the different types of interfacing and the one which will give the desired result.

Tuesday Tips with Jayhem

Topic: Know your body, Know your style.
When you’re deciding what dress to buy you need to consider some that are unique to you. They include:
1. The occasion
2. ⁠Your style of clothing (comfortable, loose-fitting, snatched)
3. ⁠Skin tone and hue
4. ⁠Your curves and their proportions (body shape)
5. ⁠The colors that tell your personality as a story (i.e colors that look good on you or suited for the occasion)
6. ⁠Your hair/ the hair you wear and facial structure is essential in the scheme of fashion
7. ⁠Last but more importantly are the accessories you pair with the dress. Your shoe, bag and jewelry have to enhance that story. If these are off every other thing will seem off.

I hope you learnt something new or reminded of what you should put into practice. See you next time.
