"As a young graduate and single mother, I was looking for a house to rent and in the process, I was not only defrauded by the house agent, I faced discrimination. I always heard some of the caretakers say, we don’t want single mothers here, for every house I visited to rent. I felt frustrated and broken. Sadly, this is the same experience many middle and low income Nigerians face daily.

My name is Fasuan Joyce Ayooluwa and I am on a mission to help 10,000 Nigerians rent safe and affordable rental homes. I co-founded Rentbetahouse.

Rentbetahouse, is a digital platform for house rental search, in Nigeria. We connect tenants, to verified rental homes. This protects them from house rental exploitation by unreliable house agents.

So far, we have helped 600 tenants rent good homes, trained 400 tenants on tenancy rights, partnered with 100 landlords, grown to 800 active users on our digital platform and currently have 2,000 prospective tenants on a wait-list.

A N500,000 Naira seed grant from this opportunity, will help us scale our operations, As 50% will go into the upgrade of our website for database expansion and traffic management and the left 50% will support our marketing efforts online through social media advert campaigns and offline through radio jingle and street mobile advert posters for our platform visibility and awareness.
