Who should actually be more skeptical? 👀
You see a business online, you check their page, you see their face, their work, their content, their process, maybe even reviews from other customers… then you reach out because you want to patronize them.
But here’s the part we don’t always talk about: the business owner doesn’t know you either. You found them online, but they have no idea who is behind that DM. So while customers are thinking, “How do I know this vendor is legit?” the vendor can also be thinking, “How do I know this customer is genuine?” 😂
And honestly, I think trust in online business should go both ways. Customers should verify before paying, and business owners should also have systems that make customers feel safe and confident.
But let’s debate this one…
