Someone very close to me once said, there are some diagnoses that will shake you to your core. The kind that rearranges your entire life with just a few words from the doctor. Suddenly, the little things that used to bother will mean nothing. Your only thought will be “Ya Allah, just give me health.”
The worst kind of illness isn’t always the one that causes you the most pain. It's the one that leaves you with uncertainty. Will I ever get better? Will I ever feel normal again? The ones you are not sure you would ever recover from.
And that’s why if you wake up today and you can stretch your limbs without pain, breathe deeply without struggle, and walk without help,please know, you’ve been gifted something priceless. Health is wealth. . It’s Allah's gift that we take for granted until it is taken away.
Wallahi, just being able to go to the toilet on your own, eat what you want, and sleep without pain is a ni’mah beyond what money can buy.
So before you start your day by counting what you don’t have, pause and say, “Alhamdulillah for the things I didn’t even know I should be grateful for.”
Because when Allah tests with illness, everything else becomes irrelevant.
