The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has reportedly recovered sophisticated wiretapping equipment allegedly capable of intercepting private conversations and accessing sensitive security documents from the Abuja residence of former Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai.

According to court filings, the items were retrieved during a search conducted in the presence of his wife, Hadiza El-Rufai, and his son, Mohammed Bello.

The anti-graft agency further claimed that El-Rufai declined to cooperate with investigators, choosing to remain silent until arraigned in court. It also alleged that one of his aides linked to the investigation has fled the country.

ICPC disclosed that it secured a 14-day detention order from a Magistrate Court in Bwari, FCT, which is set to expire on Thursday. The commission denied accusations of arbitrary detention and repression, urging the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory to dismiss the former governor’s suit alleging violation of his fundamental human rights.

Additionally, the commission stated that El-Rufai has questions to answer over serious corruption allegations, including:
-The whereabouts of €1.4 million.
-180 suspicious payments totaling ₦2.15 billion from Kaduna State’s Consolidated Revenue Account linked to its IGR account.
-Transfers amounting to over ₦428 million to undisclosed accounts.

The Sad News that Happenedappened Last Night

A bus with 16 Igede passengers from Oju and Obi LGAs was kîdnapped along Utonkon Road last night around 7pm.

The passengers were traveling From Oju LG to West for different reasons.

They departed Iheijwo Market, Oju LGA, around 7pm. The driver passed through Utonkon-Ojapo/Okpoga Road, Ado LGA, Benue State, when the kidnappers stopped them and took 15 passengers into the bush. One person was shøt d£ad when the driver refused to stop.

They collected their phones to prevent them from contacting their relatives. The bus is at Utonkon Police Station currently, but the passengers' whereabouts are unknown.

NOTICE/CLARIFICATION
Yesterday, many people noticed a bright ring around the sun with light spots on both sides, sighted in Jos, Lafia, and surrounding areas. This natural phenomenon is known as a solar halo, often accompanied by sun dogs.

A solar halo occurs when sunlight passes through tiny ice crystals in high-altitude clouds (cirrus clouds). These ice crystals bend and reflect the sunlight, forming a circular rainbow-like ring around the sun and bright spots beside it.
This is a purely natural atmospheric event and does not pose any danger to humans, communities, or the earth. It is not radiation, not a spiritual or supernatural sign, and not a cause for panic.

Scientifically, solar halos are often associated with a change in weather conditions, usually indicating that rain or cooler weather may occur within the next 24–48 hours.
Events like this remind us of the beauty and complexity of nature. There is no cause for alarm — just an opportunity to learn and appreciate our atmosphere.

A strong and controversial statement rejecting the introduction or expansion of Sharia law in South-West Nigeria has been issued by a prominent Oduduwa youth leader, intensifying debate over religion, governance, and constitutional secularism in the country.

In a public declaration addressed to the Sultan of Sokoto, the leadership of the Nigerian Supreme Council for Islamic Affairs (NSCIA), the Grand M***i of Yorubaland, and former minister Adebayo Sh*ttu, Comrade Oyegunle Oluwamayowa Omotoyole, known as Omayor, stated that the Yoruba people of South-West Nigeria do not want Sharia law adopted as a governing system in their region.

Omayor argued that Yoruba society is historically pluralistic and religiously interwoven, with Christians, Muslims, and traditional worshippers frequently coexisting within the same families and communities. According to him, introducing Sharia-based governance into such a social structure would create division, strain family relationships, and disrupt long-standing traditions of tolerance and coexistence.

He questioned the necessity of enforcing Sharia governance in a diverse society, emphasizing that many Muslims around the world practice their faith without advocating for religious law as a state framework. He maintained that religion should remain a matter of personal conviction rather than a political or governmental instrument.

The statement warned that any perceived attempt to impose religious legal systems on the South-West — directly or indirectly — would face organized and lawful opposition from stakeholders in the region. Catholic Priest Burnt Alive Inside His Car By Armed Bandits In Taraba.😭
Rev. Fr. David Tanko, who was ordained a Catholic priest in 2008 for the Catholic Diocese of Jalingo in Northeastern Nigeria, was burned alive by armed bandits together with his vehicle.

This horrific attack took place in Kufai Amadu, Takum, Taraba State. He body was burnt beyond recognition.
According to reports, the priest was on his way to a meeting to mediate and reconcile the Tiv and Jukun tribes when he was attacked.

The residents who witnessed the urgly incident discribed his death as a martyr of the Church. A servant who offered his life to God and to the people.

Some of the eyewitness offered prayers for repose of his soul like, rest now in peace, beloved servant of the Most High God indeed, the blood of the martyrs is one of the pillars of our Christian faith.
