A day in my life as a Nigerian shoemaker
One thing people don’t talk about enough is how difficult it is to be a shoemaker in Nigeria.
Most of us don’t have access to modern production machines. We improvise, use the tools we have, and still show up every day to deliver quality footwear.
People often compare our prices with mass-produced products without seeing the work behind every pair.
Despite the challenges, Nigerian shoemakers continue to create beautiful, durable footwear that competes with products from anywhere in the world.
If you’re a shoemaker, what’s one challenge you think more people should know about?
