How to get the bust span measurement, I mean ni**le to ni**le measurement in a case where you forgot to measure it, or for one reason or another, you don't have the bust span measurement... Here's what to do. Here's the formula: bust span measurement =bust divided by 8 minus 1, times 2... ie, Bust/8-1, X2
Example 1. For bust 40, 40/8=5, 5-1=4, 4X2=8, means her ni**le to ni**le is 8inches.

Example 2. Bust 36, 36/8=4.5, 4.5-1=3.5, 3.5X2 =7, therefore her bust span is 7 inches... Bust remember that measuring it on the client using your tape, could be the best....

Yes ooo last time we talk on how to label your machine needle Today we are going to share Abraham Adesanya write up as he shed more light on this different types of needle . Take ur seat and read along
First of all, there are different kinds of needles for different sewing machines, and different kinds of needles for different fabrics. You need to have this in your mind.

There is no multipurpose needle that works for every kind of sewing machine. What we have is different needles for different sewing machines and different fabrics.

Now, listen to me:

📌 For a manual sewing machine (black head specifically), there are two types of needles to use - HA and DP needles.

HA needles are for lightweight and stretchy fabrics. And they are available in different sizes - HA 14, HA 16, HA 18...

In most cases, you can use any of the sizes for your lightweight and stretchy fabrics.

DP needles are for other kinds of fabrics - ankara, denim, etc. DP needles are also available in different sizes - DP 14, DP 16, DP 18...DP 21, DP 22.

The size that you will use will depend on the thickness of the fabric you're working with. However, DP 16 and DP 18 works with most fabrics. Extra-thick fabrics are the ones you'll use size 21/22 for.

📌 For industrial straight sewing machines, the needle type you'll use are all DB needles.

DB needles are available in different sizes - DB 14, DB 16, DB 18...DB 21, DB 22. And the size that you will use will depend on the thickness of the fabric you're working with. However, DB 14, DB 16 and DB 18 works with most fabrics. Extra-thick fabrics are the ones you'll use size 21/22 for.

📌 For all overlocking (weaving) machines, the needle type you'll use is DC, whether it is industrial or domestic.

DC needles are mostly available in sizes - DC 14, DC 16, and DC 18... Just like others, the size you'll use depends on the thickness of the fabric you're working with.

In conclusion, there are different brands of sewing machine needles. The ones I have used and recommend the most are: Orange, Violin, Flying tiger, Gemsy.

This guidelines directly apply to TAILORS.
I'll write for leatherworkers at another time.

Don't forget to save and share this with your friends.

Quity or not quity?
When last did you change your needle plate.
Needle plate suppose to be change at least every eight month. As a fashion designer we should pay more attention to how our machine work. You notice initially your machine can sew any material but now it select, it's no longer sewing light cloth or drawing material. Many here since they have bought their machine over 3years or more they have not change their needle plate. There is a HOLE at the center of the needle plate in which get widen over long time used.that is one of the reasons you complain your machine select fabrics to sew.
Now! If you are quity no problem there is this second chance stop wasting money on engineer go and buy another needle plate. And begin to sew as pRo that you are. I stop here for today. I remain my humble self Yck "
