One mistake many people make in embroidery is trying to force every design on every material.

Honestly, this particular experience stood out for me personally.

Not just because of the machines. Not just because of embroidery. But because of the level of resilience it took for both Edward of from Bamenda, the largest Anglophone city in Cameroon, to be physically present at the FAMK facility for training through our collaboration with

People see training pictures and machine deliveries…but they don’t always see the sacrifices behind them.

Edward traveled thousands of kilometers just to be here.

From Bamenda to Ekok. From Ekok to Onitsha. Then from Onitsha to Lagos through an overnight bus journey.

And when you really think about it deeply…that level of risk and stress is something many people would not willingly go through today.

What shocked me even more was remembering that there is still no direct flight between Nigeria and Cameroon despite how connected our people, cultures, and industries already are. Imagine having to pass through another country entirely just to connect neighboring African nations.

Yet despite all these difficulties, they still came.

And that touched me deeply.

Because these are not idle people.These are serious business owners running active production environments in fashion and embroidery. People whose businesses require their attention constantly.

But they still put everything aside because they believed being physically present at FAMK mattered that much.

That level of dedication humbles me.

We spoke so much about Cameroon. About Africa. About politics. About production. About embroidery. About how connected we truly are as Africans despite the systems around us trying to make movement difficult.

And honestly, the conversations felt bigger than training.

It felt like collaboration. It felt like shared vision. It felt like people genuinely trying to build something meaningful within Africa........
