Unpopular opinion: I didn’t start sewing out of passion. 🧵
I started because it was the cheapest skill I could learn, as a first child without a father at an early age, Survival mode. That was what it was.
After my service year, I packed up and moved to Lagos. No family here. No relatives. No connections. No safety net. Just a girl who decided that if she was going to build something, she might as well do it in the city that doesn’t slow down for anyone. Lagos for show 😄
No childhood dream of draping brides. Just a needle, a machine, and the decision to figure it out.
But somewhere between the struggle and the stitches… it became something else entirely.
It became passion. Then purpose. Then a business.
And now? Seven years later, I dress brides on the most important day of their lives
(Also, nobody warned me that fashion could eat your whole family’s savings. E dey chop money o 😂 but it’s worth every single kobo.)
