Today, we remember and celebrate the life of a true son of Remoland, Pa Jimi Solanke.

Born on this day, Pa Jimi Solanke was more than a gifted actor, musician, storyteller and dramatist. He was a passionate custodian of Yoruba culture who dedicated his life to preserving our traditions, language and values for generations to come.

A proud son of Ipara-Remo, he carried the spirit of Remo everywhere he went. Through his performances, storytelling and music, he projected the richness of our culture to audiences across Nigeria and beyond. He is also fondly remembered as the voice behind the Remo Anthem, a song that continues to unite and inspire Remo people with a deep sense of pride and belonging.

Beyond the stage, Pa Solanke established IBUDO ASA in Ipara-Remo, a cultural center created to nurture creativity and keep our heritage alive. His life’s work was a reminder that culture is not just something we inherit; it is something we must preserve and pass on.

Although he passed on, his legacy remains alive in every story told, every child inspired, every cultural performance celebrated and every voice that proudly sings the Remo Anthem.

On his posthumous birthday, we honor a man whose life was devoted to keeping the light of Remo and Yoruba culture shining brightly.

May his legacy continue to inspire us to preserve, celebrateand proudly represent our heritage.

Happy Posthumous Birthday, Pa Jimi Solanke.

Your voice lives on. Your stories live on. Your legacy lives on.

What’s your favorite memory of Pa Jimi Solanke or the impact he had on Remoland? Kindly share it in the comment section.

Over the weekend, I was honoured to attend the reception and appreciation gathering graciously hosted by Otunba Wale Abdul, Chairman of the Akesan Day Planning Committee, at his residence in Iperu Remo.

It was a beautiful and well attended gathering with respected traditional rulers, IDA executives and IYDA Commitees present. The event was graced by our esteemed royal fathers; Alagberisha of Agberisha (HRH Oba Isiaka Adekanmi Ogunaiki Odumoru 1), Aregun
of Iregun (HRH Oba Abraham Adedoyin Ogunfowora Ewu nla/
Orijalogun 1)
and Ebi of idena (HRH Oba lukmon Oluwadamilare Adebambo Salami Sebutu) and their presence was truly valued.

Beyond the pictures and formalities, I appreciated the opportunity to have meaningful conversations and to briefly share thoughts around some of my plans and ideas. It was refreshing to engage in open discussions and connect with leaders who are genuinely invested ir community growth and development.

I'm grateful for the warm reception and for the chance to be part of such an enriching gathering. Thank you to our host and everyone present for making it a memorable experience.

I had the privilege of visiting Omo'oba Abiola Ogundeko ,CEO, First Heritage Culture & Hospitality Limited and Media & Publicity Adviser of Remo GDF.

I requested an interviewand he kindly granted it.

We spoke about Remoland and I also asked for his advice to young people.
His words were simple, powerful and inspiring.

This video captures a part of that beautiful moment.

Watch till the end and I'm sure you'll learn one or two things from it

Ipara Remo celebrates five years of the reign of His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa Oba Taiwo Taiwo (Amororo II), the Onipara of Ipara Remo.

Nestled in the heart of Remoland, Ipara Remo is one of the historic towns that make up the Remo Kingdom in Ogun State. Known for its rich cultural heritage, strong communal values and deep respect for tradition, Ipara has continued to preserve customs that have been passed down through generations.

One of such treasured traditions is Ikanku; a significant cultural institution that symbolizes continuity, identity, and the enduring legacy of the people of Ipara Remo.

As the town marks ONIPARA @ 5, we celebrate not only five years of royal leadership but also the resilience of a people committed to preserving their history and passing their heritage to future generations.

Congratulations to His Royal Highness, Alayeluwa Oba Taiwo Taiwo (Amororo II), Onipara of Ipara Remo, on this remarkable milestone.

May the throne continue to flourish in peace, wisdom, and prosperity.
