Today, we remember and celebrate the life of a true son of Remoland, Pa Jimi Solanke.
Born on this day, Pa Jimi Solanke was more than a gifted actor, musician, storyteller and dramatist. He was a passionate custodian of Yoruba culture who dedicated his life to preserving our traditions, language and values for generations to come.
A proud son of Ipara-Remo, he carried the spirit of Remo everywhere he went. Through his performances, storytelling and music, he projected the richness of our culture to audiences across Nigeria and beyond. He is also fondly remembered as the voice behind the Remo Anthem, a song that continues to unite and inspire Remo people with a deep sense of pride and belonging.
Beyond the stage, Pa Solanke established IBUDO ASA in Ipara-Remo, a cultural center created to nurture creativity and keep our heritage alive. His life’s work was a reminder that culture is not just something we inherit; it is something we must preserve and pass on.
Although he passed on, his legacy remains alive in every story told, every child inspired, every cultural performance celebrated and every voice that proudly sings the Remo Anthem.
On his posthumous birthday, we honor a man whose life was devoted to keeping the light of Remo and Yoruba culture shining brightly.
May his legacy continue to inspire us to preserve, celebrateand proudly represent our heritage.
Happy Posthumous Birthday, Pa Jimi Solanke.
Your voice lives on. Your stories live on. Your legacy lives on.
