THE WEDDING DAY CHAOS
It was just three hours to go before Chief Akan's wedding, and he was still on his phone, making one call after another. The week had been a whirlwind of preparations and coordination, and he was beginning to feel the stress. As he stepped out of the bathroom, he stretched out his hand to pick up his phone, which had been ringing nonstop while he was freshening up.
"Hello, Bamidele?" he answered, recognizing the voice of his best man.
"Chief, where are you?" Bamidele asked, sounding a bit anxious.
"I'm about to dress up," Chief replied, trying to sound calmer than he felt.
"Okay, I'm on my way. I'll meet you at your hotel room," Bamidele said before hanging up.
Chief now had to focus on getting dressed in his wedding outfit. However, as he struggled to put on the suit jacket, he realized that the sleeve was too tight for his hand to fit in comfortably. The linen inside tore a little, and the seams began to loosen. Chief got frustrated.
"How come?" he wondered aloud. "I sent my measurements to the tailor, and he assured me everything would fit perfectly."
The tailor, located in Abuja, had been recommended by a friend, and Chief had opted to use him instead of the tailor in Lagos where he and Bamidele resided. Bamidele had earlier advised him to patronize his tailor, but Chief had wanted to try something new.
Just then, Bamidele arrived at the hotel room, looking dashing in his perfectly fitted suit. Chief couldn't help but feel a bit jealous.
"My brother, what's wrong?" Bamidele asked, noticing Chief's distress.
"The suit doesn't fit," Chief replied, frustration etched on his face.
Bamidele sympathized with Chief and took him to his own tailor in Lagos to see if the suit could be adjusted. As they rushed to the tailor's shop, Chief's anxiety grew. They arrived with just 45 minutes to the wedding ceremony.
When they got to the tailor's shop, they found him busy with another client.
