The Birth of DClosets Luxury Homes & Acres
Every great vision has a story, and mine began over a decade ago in the vibrant city of Lagos Lekki, to be precise. In 2013, destiny brought a remarkable woman into my life: Mummy Aderonke Elegushi, my landlady and a true angel in human form.
She encouraged me to secure a small piece of land in Epe then seen as a quiet, remote area. Through her guidance and connections, I purchased that property with what we would call chikini money. I didn’t know then that God was planting a seed that would one day blossom into something greater.
Life unfolded in unexpected ways.
I left the oil industry and ventured into the clothing business. It grew, and soon I started traveling to Dubai to buy goods. But as the dollar began to rise, the exchange rate became unbearable. It frustrated many business men and women, including me. Profit margins crashed, and everything became difficult to sustain.
Still determined to move forward, I later invested millions in a waste management business (Skips). Sadly, that investment failed as well. The loss was painful and overwhelming.
But God bless my husband for his calm and reassuring voice.
He reminded me, “Honey, that is a business gone bad, not the end of the world. Leave that money and face the future.”
Though the journey afterward was challenging, I kept pushing, believing that God would open another door.
A few months ago, everything became clear again when God reminded me of that “small” land I had bought years earlier.
I reached out to my childhood friend, Ngozi Okeke, a successful realtor who had been inviting me into real estate for years. I told her:
Nne, you know me. I was once a money girl. Life humbled me, but I am ready to rise again and this time, I want to help others rise too. If only I had fully listened to Mummy Elegushi, I would have had acres upon acres in Epe today.”
Mummy Elegushi always told me:
My daughter, no buy too much asoebi invest in land. Buy where people are not looking now. Give it a few years you will sleep and wake up smiling.
Today, I understand her words more than ever.
That small investment I made years ago became the stepping stone God used to lift me again.
