I've come to realize that cleaning and healing have more in common than we think.
Cleaning is the act of removing what no longer belongs. Healing is learning to let go of what no longer serves you.
When we clean our homes, we remove dust, dirt, and clutter so there's room to breathe again. When we heal, we clear away bitterness, guilt, pain, disappointment, and fear so our hearts can breathe again.
Neither happens overnight.
Some stains need to be scrubbed more than once. Some wounds take longer to mend than others. Some corners are easy to reach, while others require patience and intention. The same is true of healing. There are memories we revisit, tears we cry, and lessons we learn before peace finally settles in.
A clean space brings comfort to the eyes, but a healed heart brings peace to the soul.
So as you wipe down your tables, mop your floors, or declutter your home today, ask yourself: What emotional clutter am I still holding onto? Is it anger? Regret? A broken relationship? A dream that didn't work out?
Just as we wouldn't keep bags of trash in our living room, we shouldn't allow emotional garbage to occupy our hearts forever.
Clean your home. Heal your heart. Both are acts of self-love. Both create room for new beginnings. And both remind us that sometimes, the most beautiful transformations happen quietly, one small step at a time. 🤍🧹
