What are you putting inside the clothes 😄?

Have you been asked this question before by your customer as a fashion Designer?
Sometimes this question can be annoying and for me it's always funny but here is what to answer to help you and your customer be on the same page to avoid mostly underpricing your work and maybe overpricing too.
Start by saying :
When I design your outfit, it’s not just fabric ✂️ — I put in details that make it comfortable, durable, and uniquely yours 💃🏽.

Here’s what I add inside your dress 👇

👗 Lining – for comfort, neatness & a luxury feel.
👗 Interfacing – to give structure & firmness.
👗 Boning / Bust Cups – for perfect shape & support (corset dresses).
👗 Zippers/Closures – strong & durable for smooth finishing.
👗 Finishing – overlocked edges, neat hems, no rough threads.
👗 Embellishments – beads, appliqués, stones (for that extra sparkle ✨).

💡 This is why custom-made outfits are different from “just clothes.” Every detail is carefully chosen to give you confidence, elegance, and comfort.

Weekend is here!
Now in my journey of trying to do things differently, henceforth I will be addressing my Sew mates( other fashion Designers) as Sew Squad in all my post.
So to my Sew Squad know that a successful weekend for you as a fashion designer is a mix of creativity, learning, networking, and relaxing. Too much work without rest kills your creativity, while too much rest without planning, researching makes you start the new week without clarity and so slows your growth.

You see eeh! Everything is not money.
So a lady worked into my shop greeted so well and left and came back. Almost the same minute and said " Ma I don't know if you will help me" I gave an ear to her.
She: someone gave me this clothe 3yards of fabric to wear to her child dedication on Sunday but I will be going Friday evening to assist, please use it to sew for me and my daughter 🤭😭🙆 both of them are plus size
Me thinking: emergency,3yardsfor 2 Orobo😀😀😭I come weak sef.
Okay me: Ma we'll buy more fabric to achieve this, your bill is #1.5m (dey play)
Mkpu apuo ya na onu, Jesus! Aunty abeg ..o I no get😀😀and she started worrying. I noticed it and ask her please what's your budget Ma? She said teeree5 (imaginary price)Onye ahia m abiago!😀😭 She started worrying again then I cut in , "Madam stop worrying you're more than #1.5m keep the clothe I go run am for you . See joy! her countenance changed beautifully and I felt so good too.
She come dey pray for me blessing me .
If you know me well,you will know that I believe so much that I can't sew for everybody, so when you underprice my value Nwannem mnye gi oso.
