In line with the commitment of the Zaria Local Government Council to sustained engagement with the people and community-based groups under the leadership of the Executive Chairman, Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga), the Secretary of the Council, Hon. Shuaibu Abdullahi (Mai Canter), today received various individuals and groups in his office at the Council Secretariat.
The engagements are part of the administration's open-door policy aimed at strengthening collaboration between the Local Government and critical stakeholders at the grassroots.
The groups received include:
1. Kungiyar Kafintocin Sama da na Kasa na Zaria: The association was on a solidarity visit to the Council. The delegation expressed its readiness for collective collaboration and sought areas where the Local Government can come in to support its members and activities.
2. Kofar Doka Community: The community delegation appealed for the Council's intervention and support in the education sector within their community. The Secretary assured them that their concerns have been duly noted and will be reviewed for appropriate action.
3. Youth Development Association: The Association was at the Secretariat to sustain its working relationship with the Local Government Council. The group commended the Secretary for his accessibility, encouragement and continued support to youth-focused initiatives.
4. Hadin Kan Matasan Unguwar Dan Madami: The youth group paid an introductory visit to the Secretary. In his response, Hon. Shuaibu Abdullahi commended them for their unity and advised them to prioritize education and ensure they return fully to school as a pathway to self-reliance and community development.
5. Kungiyar Cigaban Matasan Arewa: The group also paid an introductory visit to formally introduce the association and intimate the Council of its activities and objectives geared towards the development of youth in the North.
6. Kake Community Development Forum: The Forum paid a courtesy visit to appreciate the Secretary for his dedication, accessibility and efforts towards community development. In recognition of his contributions, the Forum presented him with an Award of Excellence.
In his response, the Secretary thanked all the groups for their visits and expressed appreciation to the Forum for the honour. He described the award as a motivation to do more, and he reaffirmed the commitment of the administration of Engr. Jamil Ahmad Muhammad (Jaga) to inclusive governance, youth empowerment, and community development.
He stated that the present administration remains open to partnerships that will promote peace, skill development, education and economic growth across Zaria Local Government, assuring that all requests presented will be conveyed for consideration.
He further urged all groups to remain law-abiding, united and supportive of government policies and programs aimed at uplifting the people of Zaria.
