THE LAUNDRY BUSINESS IS BIBLICAL:
Though,
It wasn't called "laundry" like we do today. The people who did it were called fullers or Launderers/washermen
WHAT THEY DID:
A Fuller was someone who cleaned, shrank, whitened, and sometimes dyed cloth and garments. The word comes from the Hebrew "to tread" because they would literally trample clothes in tubs of water with alkaline substances like natron, soap, urine, or chalk to get them clean. After washing, they’d spread them in the sun to dry and bleach.
Because of the smells and need for lots of water, fullers usually worked outside the city. Jerusalem even had a place called "the Fuller's Field" or "Washerman's Field" near the upper pool. It’s mentioned in 2 Kings 18:17, Isaiah 7:3, and Isaiah 36:2.
WHERE IT'S MENTIONED:
Mark 9:3, At Jesus' transfiguration, His clothes became "whiter than any launderer on earth could whiten them"
Malachi 3:2, God is compared to "fuller's soap/launderer's" soap" that removes impurities

SYMBOLISM:
Beyond the job itself, washing had a big spiritual meaning. Just as a washerman cleaned garments for ritual purity under Mosaic Law, the Bible uses washing as a picture of God cleansing people from sin. Psalm 51:7: "wash me, and I will be whiter than snow" .
Laundry was a real trade in biblical times. It was manual, messy, and done outside the city, but important both practically and as a symbol of purification.
