Piece of a poem by Charlotte Ivan.

This nice flowy dress almost looks like liquid with the playful ink stain print. The fun of it? If you stain it yourself it just blends in!

Each dress is handmade with love at Aizuri's design studio based in Amsterdam.

I like to share this pretty picture from 2011 of my model wearing a pink dress with 1950s inspiration. This dress has been my favorite for years and is a perfect example of how inspiration can come from anywhere - even from the past (read the 1950s and previous Aizuri collections)

As a designer, I like to look for ways to rework and reimagine my designs; this dress is no exception. I'm looking to bring this pink 1950s-inspired dress back to life as an Aizuri Design 2023 model.

I'm working with care to update and improve the design to make it fresh and modern I can't wait to share the final result with you all.

For Aizuri the goal is to create clothing that is both timeless and contemporary, and this pink dress is the perfect example of that. It's a piece that has stood the test of time and continues to inspire me today.

A journey of reimagining and reworking the designs.

I'm feeling inspired by the bright colors of spring here in Amsterdam, and I'm excited to share one of my favorite colors with you today: orangy red.

At Aizuri Design, I'm often tempted to stick to my beloved blues, but there's something special about this bright and bold color that I just can't resist.

Whether you choose to wear just the shirt or go all-out in a monochromatic linen suit, this orangy red shade is sure to turn heads and make you feel unstoppable. And with the spring light and color brightening up our city, there's no better time to enjoy this bold color and make it your own.

now available on the webshop 🌷🌺❣️

Happy to share my latest creation - a beautiful denim dress made from headstock material. I handcraft this piece (and many others) in my studio here in Amsterdam, and it's the perfect combination of easy wear, comfort, and style.

With an adjustable waist, it's designed to fit your body perfectly and stay with you for many days to come. And because it's made from deadstock material, it's not only sustainable but also not subjected to the whims of fashion trends.

Getting ready for spring 🌱🌿🌸🌼

As a slow fashion brand, I believe that clothing should be a reflection of who we are, not just something we wear to fit in. That's why I take great care to create pieces that are both beautiful and personal. With this old collection "folded in between rules" I hope to inspire you to leave the boxes that society has created behind and be your true self.

So if you are looking for clothing that truly reflects your unique individuality, you can check out Aizuri design. I work with you to create pieces that fit your body, your needs, and your personality. Made-to-order creates the possibility to make certain adjustments if desired.

As many of you know, I'm a one-person show for Aizuri and enjoy crafting each piece by hand. It's a slow process that allows me to put my heart and soul into every garment.

When you buy slow fashion you're supporting an independent artist who takes great care of the impact their work has on the world. You are investing in something that is made with love and attention to detail, rather than something mass-produced in a factory.

I know slow fashion isn't for everyone, but for those of us who feel it, it is a beautiful thing. So whether you are a slow fashion enthusiast or just curious about what it is all about, I am happy to have you here and to share this journey with you.

Love,
Aizuri

P.S. the photos are from the beginning of Aizuri in 2008 in Barcelona. Find the differences and the similarities between then and now 🤩

Aizuri loves the timeless. This Gingham or Vichy check was modern in the fifties and is modern today. I don't think I would ever get tired of it. Same for other plaids and checks.

These stylish ladies wore the latest spring fashion of 1958. Standing in line at the betting window at the Roosevelt Raceway, Long Island, New York. Photographed by Nina Leen.

We don't put as much effort into it as these elegant women did in their times. But we can still choose to be effortlessly elegant wearing our modern Aizuri designs.

When designing I love to play with stripes. Such a simple element can create so much stunning and playful artwork. This sweater blouse makes it even more exciting to play with transparency. Comfy as a sweater en elegant as a blouse.

Some time back I was blown away visiting the Van Nelle Fabriek in Rotterdam. This amazing modern building, the former to***co factory, was way ahead of its time, it finished building in 1932. Besides the fact that the building is so pretty and timeless, it was built to provide better work conditions for the workers with so much light coming in. This also meant that it was easier for the managers to keep an eye on the workers since there was no place to hide. I am mainly impressed by how the practical factory building has been designed with such playfulness, lightness, and elegance. No wonder it became a UNESCO world heritage in 2014.

And practical and modern it was, using the water from the river Schie to flush the toilet! Like really, why do we flush the toilet in the watery Netherlands with fresh drinking water??? Still in 2023, makes no sense, does it!

Nothing goes to waste. The first example of the textile scrap shirts collection 🥳Where leftover bits and pieces will turn into wearables.

One of a kind just like you 😉.

This one? Used to be a curtain. Now it can go on as your favorite shirt. 💙🤍
